Ween's The Mollusk just turned 20 years old (yeesh). That album was basically the official soundtrack to my first apartment. Mickey (Dean Ween) gave a fun oral history of the album recently. I can't believe that an album that sonically polished was basically recorded in houses. Man, my engineering skills are shit.

My wife and I hit it off at a Ween show at First Ave in 2003; our first 'unofficial' date.
I was at both of those shows!
And I'm excited to see them in Moorhead of all places at the end of this month. I haven't seen them in years, and the last show I saw sucked (I hate the Roy Wilkins), so I'm hoping this makes up for that!
We seriously considered making the trip, but are going to Napa for a long weekend and can't afford both.
That show at Wilkins was not up to par. I've seen some outstanding acts there (can't figure out how they keep getting booked) but none of the shows have been as good as some mediocre acts I've seen at First Ave. Looking forward to checking out the newly updated Palace in October.
