Shortly after the crushing loss last night, I got word that Royce Lewis, new to Class A Cedar Rapids, debuted with a four-hit day.

Hey -- the sun came up today!
Yes, we are all looking for some upside today. Again. π
Bryon Buxton is tied with Miguel Sano with 2.4 rWAR. Sano has really slowed down his walk production since the All Star break, only 4 walks.
and yet, Buxton is still "hitting" only 230/300/324 (67 OPS+). While that is way up from his depths (an actually impressive 317/370/439 in the second half), almost all of his overall value is still defensively. I don't mean that as a criticism. 2.1 dWAR (currently) is very impressive.
Since the break, Sano has 39 strikeouts in 95 AB/105 PA. Either way you figure it, that's a lot.
Also, since coming off the DL August 1, Buxton's line is .308/.349/.410/.759 with a .393 BABIP.
and yesterday, I think he was to third base before that ball got over the fence.
The kind of follow-up message you don't want to receive after your child's birthday party: another kid who was there has lice. The message didn't come until after my boys were asleep, so I checked them in the morning . . . and then we all did lice treatments. And then I informed the parents of the other kids who were at the party. π
The Milkmaid just had a lice thing happen at work, and her head was itching so we checked it out. It was just a coincidence (or part psychosomatic, I suppose, although the itching was present before she heard about the scare). I figured a lice scare would happen in this family someday, but not because of the Milkmaid.
