Game 103: twins @ red sox

Don't have much today. This series has been compelling, but now that the team is clearly in "sell" mode, it's harder to put much into it.

Maybe it's better that way.

Either way, go Twins!

    1. Nothing like the front office being in Sell Mode to motivate guys (to get traded to a contender).

  1. I don't think anyone mentioned that Carlos Gomez pitched the other day. It went as well as you would expect. He faced 5 batters and walked 4 of them. He also balked twice, which gives him the team lead and doubled the Rays total for the season. He got one out on a short fly ball to center and had to be relieved by catcher Jesus Sucre. They needed someone with more experience at pitching. This was Sucre's second appearance this season. Gomez now has a career ERA of 81.00 and a career FIP of 39.16. Plus a WHIP of 12.00.

  2. Ford Escape has escaped. Didn't get quite what I was hoping for it, but close enough. Sold to what appeared to be a hard-working, not so well-off guy in town. Cash money, homey.

    1. I know the guy who got that Moss quote (Straight cash, homey). Worked with him at KARE for five years. He was an early home brewer, too.

  3. Also, in unrelated news, we will be coming back to the Fatherland for a visit, Aug. 1-8, with a couple of days in the Cities and a couple of days at my folks' in da Far Nord.

Anybody going to the Bullseye for the game on Sunday, August 5? I will be there with the Mrs., my brother, sister-in-law, and parents. Tickets are purchased, but I don't know where we are sitting yet.

    1. Damn, that’s Big Lebowski night. Any chance you could do a mini caucus on Saturday?

      1. Unfortunately, probably not. We are in town to help my parents celebrate their 60th anniversary. Big family dinner that evening. And my wife is unlikely to approve of a side trip to see all my friends from the League of Dorks or whatever she is calling us these days. πŸ™

but the sunday game IS a day game!
