Guuuuuuuuhhhhhh. I'll never forget, but I did not remember just how little of a chance he actually had at that.
I remember that ALDS game against the Yankees where Hunter hit a homer in extra innings. I was driving in my car back from work as my job forced me (since I was salaried) to work evenings that week doing union busting in the parking lot. I got home just in time to watch the Yankees come back in the bottom half.
I'd love to vote for Torii, but he was so frustrating at times.
He was a Twins HoFer, without question. He's pretty certainly "Hall of Very Good" material, though.
Better 31+ career than through age 30 season.
Huh. I'd kind of forgotten that he worked out really, really well for the Angels.
Burly is the only one that really does anything for me, even though Hudson is remarkably similar. I don't expect we'll get anyone out of this group, but I suppose I can throw a vote to him for being able to succeed in the crazy offensive era without ever really striking anyone out.
Also, this play.
One thing that video reinforces is how much of a useless statue Konerko was.
There's a real good chance he was pitching on the legion field next to our softball field back in the day. I know I've played against his brother.
Hawk for Hall of Really Good People.
