Thanksgiving done, now we're going to be watching case counts to see if we're going to get Christmas. I mean, of course we get Christmas...but whether we'll get grief-free holiday negotiations is going to be the next big heartache.

Note, the basement will be moving this afternoon. Everything is ready and all that's left is to flip a switch to send people to the new address.
!!!
Oh d@mn, I hope we don't have to paint again.
are we taking over the old Deadspin site?
Move done, boxes unpacked.
*looks around at the new new basement*
yes?
I hire only the best interior replicators.
I'm okay with progress, as long as nothing changes.
Is it time for another fundraiser?
I had no idea we were moving.
We went looking for a fire pit to give to a friend as a house warming gift. Turns out everyone and their brother is in the market for fire pits these days. Our friends have a Weber model that is indestructible, but of course is no longer marketed. Which brought me to a wild idea. I’ve had the old Weber kettle (formerly converted to the electric smoker) under the house since the last hurricane, and I decided that the lid is about the right size for a decent fire pit. I bought some conduit 90• angles and bolted them through the bottom of the lid as legs (a bit too short so I bought some smaller diameter conduit to extend the legs). Bought a new charcoal grate for the grill and am using the old one as a lift for the logs in the diy fire pit. I think I spent a total of 25 bucks. It’s a little gnarly looking but it’l do.
We ended up buying a pit for our friend and having it drop shipped from China.
On the stove top tonight ---> Jumbo. I have best stop andouille, home roasted chicken, liquid smoke, and home made stock simmering away in a medium dark roux. I'm excited because 'cool' temperatures this week. (to be fair it will potentially frost here between Monday and Tuesday...)
*and I found some frozen pork jelly (reduced stock from a crocpot roast last month) that I just threw in for fun.
Turkey noodle soup here. Having never made broth before, or many soups (other than french onion), this was a huge success.
