As an early Christmas present I got a beautiful car cellphone holder/charger that mounts to a vent. After some of the longer car rides we've taken this year, it will both hold Google Maps in a handy location plus keep the phone charged up. Unfortunately, it was over engineered in that the gripper is motorized. This would be fine if you remember to release the phone before turning off the car. Why couldn't they have made it with a simple mechanical grip?
We had to totally change our holiday Christmas travel plans to accommodate my in-law's total inflexibility. This had caused us to miss out on an opportunity to see my brother for the first time in two years.
We asked them two days ago when people are going to church. The answer is that everyone is going at 4:30 on Christmas Eve - while we're on the road. No invite. No consulting us on what would work. Just a total disregard for my family.
It's a very passive aggressive family so if you bring it up, you're the problem.
Oof.
We've experienced this on the wife's side at times. But we're both middle kids, so we get it.
Grievances: what sean said. We cancelled our Santa Fe trip because of Omicron. Likewise mrsS's sister and two brothers.
Feat of strength: the Girl accepted a job and is moving to NYC. So if you know someone nice who needs a roommate in or near Manhattan....
Hazy IPAs and the current industry trend of making can labels impossible to read has been giving me a lot of grief lately.
Anything labeled a Juicy IPA can gooooooooooooooooooo eff itself.
Feat of Strength: I came off all diabetes medication last week and my glucose levels have remained down so far. My diabetes could be in considered in remission in six months, just have to keep doing what I'm doing and get two good A1C numbers in a row. (oh, and I have actual abs now)
Awesome.
Its all had quite the effect on my curling game.
We went 4-4 in this session. 0-3 against the top 3. 4-1 against the rest.
Not bad. I'm not doing that well, quite frankly. We're 1-5 so far in my main league, largely because I get pretty much zero good front end shots. I've had amazing weight this year and can get it up there when I need to, but my decision making still lags.
What Algonad said. Very feat-ish.
Good for you. Several years ago we had a cat that became diabetic in her old age. We started giving her insulin, but we also changed her diet to cut out almost all carbs. After a few months, she had a reaction to the insulin because she was making her own again and she got too much. We were able to take her off the insulin and she never went back on.
Well, yesterday's booster shot did not affect me for about 12 hours yesterday. Started feeling ill at bedtime. Woke up at 4am feeling like I got run over by a truck. Chills, severe headache, body aches. Jinxed myself yesterday
Pretty much the same as my reaction. Mine took twelve hours to kick in, too.
Same, although I just got a little tired is all. I got pretty lucky in terms of side effects for all three shots.
My arm was a little sore the day after, and not sore any more the day after that. That was it. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
Same for my wife. She got her booster yesterday, and about 3 AM it hit her like a train. She's taken several naps and baths today, but it seems to have passed by now (though I wouldn't be surprised at an early bedtime)
Again, I'd love to bitch and moan (and I'm a gold medalist in complaining let me tell you), but the perspective I have from these last two years tells me that I should be more grateful than resentful.
But, eff the effing eff off New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board. Fix some pot holes, too.
*gestures at everything*
I might be able to do this forever.
wow. that was an epic airing.
