Good for ABW! I hope he succeeds
Any interest in a year-end Zoom get-together like we did last year? Any preference which evening this week would work the best?
Anyone else back in the office today? I've got a few pretty major items to get wrapped up this week, though right now I'm feeling very good about the groundwork I did the last 2 weeks. Hoping the phone doesn't ring too many times and I can just have a relaxing week of coffee and too much paperwork.
½ day today, so I knocked out a couple of my required online training items. Now I have a couple deck boards to replace over at Runner daughter's place...
I am back in the office, but then again, I never really left. We got 8-10 inches of snow according to the radio station, but I had 18-24 inches in my driveway. Snow blowed that out at 6am. Brought my wife to work and then preceded to get by 4x4 truck stuck in the driveway at work. Took 30 minutes to shovel that out. The next few hours I was a shuttle service, picking up staff and getting them into work. Sounds like some restaurants in town are staying closed, so we are getting a fair amount of take out and some tough guys who love to have a beer or two and tell snow plowing stories.
I'm one of the few people here today
Our Santa Fe trip was canceled, but I am staying home rather than going in.
Aaand my SiL (mrsS's sister) just tested positive, demonstrating why she and all the siblings decided to cancel.
Also, my Manhattan BiL (mrsS's brother) and his wife.
Per my daughter, something like 10 percent of NYC has recently been infected. New cases are currently running at 279 per 100,000 per day, or about 2 percent of the population per week.
A major snowstorm that blanketed much of the western United States over Christmas weekend has left travel difficult or impossible as several major highways are closed throughout the mountains of Northern California and Nevada.https://t.co/FH2g0ROy9b

RIP Sactown/UC Davis icon Wayne Thiebaud
Aw nuts.
What a life! What a painter! While he’s best known for his food paintings—justifiably so, they’re great—his cityscapes of SF are equally wonderful.
Also, E. O. Wilson
Oh hai, winter!
Any snow is good snow for that area, right?
Yes. And we are still in drought.
