The new Low album was absolutely amazing. Quite the headphone album, although some of the (planned) distortion sounds like your headphones/speakers got blown out. It's interesting to think that while Low was playing this song, I was in a taxi on my nighttime trek to Aguas Calientes to see Machu Picchu.

I streamed this right when it came out, and wasn't sure what to think. I tend to go through phases in my listening and at the time I was into a lot of West Coast Jazz (think Art Pepper, Gerry Mulligan, and Chet Baker.) Ultra-distorted Low just wasn't fitting in with me at that time. However, I've since revisited it and I'm liking it very much.
One discovery that led me back to the joys of distortion was Ovlov and their 2021 release buds. Even though this Connecticut band had been around for a decade, I didn't know of them until this year.
Their heavy shoe-gaze sound slotted nicely next to 90's alt faves of mine like MBV, Swervedriver, Dinosaur Jr and Built to Spill. Earlier releases are even more red-line over-drive. For example this one from 2018's TRU.
Or this one from 2013's am.
If the band name We've Got a Fuzz Box and We're Gonna Use It hadn't been taken, it would be a perfect fit for these guys.
