No, I didn’t go down to Illinois to make this post. Why do you ask?

The Little One is getting her first round of vaccine in about an hour. This feels like the first step in a huge weight coming off our family.
I've had 4 shots now, the most recent about a month ago. For the last six months I've only worn a mask when required or when I'm on an airplane. I come into contact with hundreds of people most weekends, albeit mostly outdoors. I was in the Atlanta office last week and got an email this week saying I was exposed while there. My daughter is currently isolated in her bedroom with COVID (they'll make their flight home tomorrow just under the quarantine wire assuming they test negative), and my wife had it a couple of months ago. But I have remained stubbornly uninfected. I can't put it down to clean living, so I'm stuck with the conclusion that the vaccine works pretty darn good and my immune system is uncompromised.
Outside of being pretty gosh darn sure we had the OG, we’d been very lucky until June. My sense of smell is back but ipa doesn’t taste quite as good anymore….
I felt the same when the Poissonnière got hers. Glad you’ll be able to breathe a little easier now, Mags.
Our youngest got his second dose yesterday. Only one more to go but that won't be until after the school year begins.
Yup, that reminds me, need to set up that last dose.
Very exciting. I know my wife is absolutely thrilled that her preschoolers can now get vaxxed. We expect that MAYBE half will.
The last two years have been really stressful for her,
tracking every infection and exposure, managing masking and (some) resistant parents, trying to keep the kids and her staff healthy (despite themselves) so she doesn't have to shut down the school. They almost made it through this year without in-school exposures that forced a shutdown. Almost.
Every team but two plays today. Not a fan of waiting until Saturday after the All-Star break.
Unless we're buying time for injury recovery. Or postponing Sano's return.
SI predicts Yankees over Dodgers with Aaron Judge WS MVP. Way to go way out on a limb, swamis.
I’m fine with Sanó’s return being permanently postponed.
He's set to come off his rehab on Monday. The trade deadline is the following Sunday. The waiver wire is right over there. Just sayin'.
Huh, I didn't realize he was in the last year of his contract. He's looking at a major downgrade in lifestyle if he doesn't come back mashing.
FYI, Zion is pretty.
Filled up for $3.69 this evening; Sam's/ Costco's is less
It's still about $5.50 here in Chicago. Fortunately we can get home without having to fill up on Sunday.
I got $4.65 today.
I got $5.14 at Costco yesterday.
$4.39 in the Mankato area
On our recent trip, gas was a good $1.40/gal cheaper in Sconnie/MN.
$4.82 in Kanab, Utah. About the lowest we’ve seen since driving to the area from Vegas.
IA and MO are pretty low $$ gas states, fwiw, so most car trips elsewhere can be eye openers
Have you been to the chemical coast?
Oh yeah, I think GA(?) is lower too maybe
No.
Jays have 27 runs, two more innings to surpass Texas's 30
That inside the park HR was embarrassing. Tapia barely walked out of the box, and still ended up scoring easily.
In their defense, it was extremely funny.
the Sox fielders have lost track of at least five fly balls this year. Very funny, indeed
