It's midnight here, so I won't bother thinking of something for this space.

I think today marks the first time that the agony of a sore throat has ever woken me up. The first few swallows made me want to cry in pain. Man, this one's aggressive.
This sounds like strep throat. I had this again in January since the first time since I was really young. It was agony.
I've never had strep throat (that I know of, it sounds like it really sucks), but I got pink-eye from the kids this winter and that was accompanied by the most swollen and dry throat I've ever dealt with. Luckily it was bacterial and the antibiotics took care of it in a couple days.
So, FOX renews American Dad and The Cleveland Show, but cancels The Finder??? I'm not sure whether to complain about the network or the viewers. Discuss.
That blows- I enjoyed The Finder, so of course I'm not surprised it got canceled. At least I have those other two shows to continue not watching.
yea, it is a fun, absurd, quirky show. With a smoking-hot U.S. marshal.
I'd say the viewers. The network execs leave their hearts and even their own preferences out of it. Still, FOX could learn a thing or two from the past, where Cheers and Cosby were the bottom two shows on television in terms of ratings, but were given time to find an audience and became two of America's defining sitcoms. Ditto Seinfeld, which didn't draw ratings until near the end of season three.
Right. But The Cleveland Show?? Seriously? Test patterns are more entertaining and less offensive.
You'll definitely get no argument here.
I heard yesterday that it was on the block, so at least it was close.
Well they are paying that idiot MacFarlane a silly amount of money. I suppose they want some ROI.
Family Guy appealed to me when it first came out, but I find Cleveland and Dad to be obnoxious at best. The trailer for Ted was mildly amusing, but I'm not certain I can take 2 hours of it.
I assume you mean "offensive to thought patterns", because I'm pretty sure that on a "moral outrage" scale, The Cleveland Show falls somewhere between test patterns and "Charlie Bit Me" on the scale of 'edgy' entertainment.
jocks who know and can properly use words such as "cliche": priceless.
This is a disturbing story. Her blog is still active. I have no idea whether she has slandered or defamed the church in question, but the situation is both sad and disturbing.
It's interesting to note that the pastor took exception to the term "control tactics" while suing someone who isn't a member for giving the church a negative review.
That could be a landmark case. If the church is successful, that could lead to a lot more lawsuits.
I don't see it happening.
That's not at all typical of a Baptist church, but every organization has its black sheep.
For what it's worth, I would hope even the most skeptical among the WGOM wouldn't consider this to be typical of any branch of Christianity.
As the person who posted this, I should hasten to say that I do not see this as in any way an indictment of organized religion, let alone a specific flavor of christianity. I'm more disturbed by the apparent assault on free speech. Again, I don't claim to know all (or many) of the facts in the case. But the story has been pitched so as to raise (for me) serious concerns about chilling effects on internet speech.
that said, she could very well have gone beyond the pale on her blog. I've only read one post on it.
Not now. But I seem to recall oppression by the Church being fairly commonplace throughout history.
Sure, but all the incidents of churches not being oppressive aren't going to make it into the history books, because it's a non-story. I know there's a long history of religion being used for control, but there's just as long a history of religion being used for good.
I'd only hold it's an indictment of this crazy ass church. But, I'd Be more likely to see it as a massive failure of this countries legal system if this is thrown out immediately.
I assume you meant "not thrown out immediately"
An interesting site that updates weather, including wind, for ballparks.
Josh Hamilton hit another HR today. He now has 18. Coming into todays play, the SLG% leader board looked like this
Slugging %
1. Hamilton (TEX) .873
2. Willingham (MIN) .646
3. Dunn (CHW) .628
and OPS
On-Base Plus Slugging
1. Hamilton (TEX) 1.336
2. Willingham (MIN) 1.070
3. Ortiz (BOS) 1.038
So close to 1.337.
whats 1.337?
I knew Willingham was doing well, but he is in the Top 10 of a lot of categories on the AL leaderboard
Nerd trivia. The specialness is the '1337' or '31337'.
Louie CK Live at the Beacon is on FX right now. awesome
Belated thanks for the heads up. I tuned in and laughed a lot. I've never really paid attention to Louis CK for one reason or another, but that was pretty funny.
Can the Lakers get taken down tonight?
NBA action looks much better on my step dad's TV as opposed to my computer monitor.
also, this lakers/nuggets game is heading towards a pretty crazy end.

Former Buffalonian (Canisius Alum), John Axford, had a great letter for the media last night.
'cliche, cliche, another cliche'

Preview of the new Neil Young on npr.
I listened to some of that and it's quite good.

This game is pretty awesome.

Lakers-OKC could be pretty fun.
