There are an insane number of tats here, including the neck region. In fact, it's almost more surprising when I see someone without a single tattoo. A large percentage of people in their 20s and a good number up to the age of 50 are covered on legs, arms or both. One of my store's four managers has tattoos on at least 30% of his body. I see no fewer than 20 people with "sleeves" on a daily basis. There's a regular shopper with the Twins TC logo on his neck (he's tall, too) among several other disjointed images. If there are any tattoo artists out there, come to Phoenix. You will never run short on jobs.

I didn't grow up really caring about tennis too much but I had come to appreciate the game watching Federer. The past few years has been a real treat for people with even passing interest in the game.

According to the NOAA, the heat index in WDM topped out at 111° during our rugby tournament yesterday. I drank at least 1 gallon each of water and gatorade.

The wife and I and a guy I met at a time trial earlier this year (NBBW calls him my BFF) went on a cool ride through coastal Connecticut this morning.
I noticed something on the road and stopped to pick it up. It was a Shiv. I know we've joked about shivs before (either here or back on the Stick), but honestly I had never seen one before. It was a piece of metal, part of a knife, honed down to fit easily into a palm, and easy to hide like in your sock. I showed it to NBBW and BFF, then tossed it into the street.
I thought the league fined the team for this. Maybe they did and that just wasn't disclosed.
Maybe the publicity of this rule will force a change. With most ballparks having state of the art scoreboards it's incredible that MLB won't allow close plays to be shown on the screens. In the NFL, such plays are regularly shown and I would argue the crowds are much rowdier and drunkier than even the worst MLB park.
I'm not holding my breath however.
I like "drunkier" as a word.
