Prince Fielder is the second man to win multiple Home Run Derbies. Does he follow it up with an AL win tonight? Not if Joe Mauer has anything to say about it! Wait, that doesn't work...

This would be an awesome collection to get, even if it is a bit pricey. What made me post it though was the first comment in the story:
It is a tremendous collection, but for a lot of these I'd feel bad playing them. I wouldn't mind having the full set of Dreamcast stuff to leave sealed, though. My Dreamcast collection is quite large (137? gamse with like 12 to go), but that would be even more amazing.
Yeah, I agree. the only reason to buy said collection would be to own said collection and not play any of it. Also, I'd have to be retired so that I could spend every waking minute playing and trying each of the games.
By the way where's Beau with a Pixel Perfect Memories? He missed June.
I did. Hoped no one would notice. I promise, or at least will seriously hope I do one for July.
Ooh. Looks like we were given tix for the Stanford at Notre Dame football game on October 13th. Since I have never been to a Notre Dame football game I am really looking forward to this event 3 months in advance. We'll combine it with a college tour of ND. Notre Dame will be a stretch school (academically for my son and financially for me) but hey, free tix to a Notre dame home football game? It's worth the visit.
I'm envious. My family visited South Bend on the way to D.C. during a family vacation in 1993. Spent a good part of the day on campus but wasn't able to get into the stadium. However, I have been to a Notre Dame football game. While stationed in Jacksonville, I scored tickets to the 2003 Gator Bowl between ND and NC State. The Wolfpack was quarterbacked by none other than Philip Rivers and they stomped all over the Irish, 28-6. Most of the youthful fervor for ND football (being Irish Catholic) had already worn off by that point so I was merely disappointed it wasn't a more competitive game.
My parents enjoyed this game from Notre Dame Stadium.

At the end of the interview:
Very cool.
semi-related: i don't think it was noted here before, but perk got a pretty good zinger over on gleeman:
The best part is that Gleeman thought Perk was giving him a compliment!
I wonder why Gleeman hasn't linked to us?????
I mentioned the site a few times while we were at Brit's. His own site has definitely taken a backseat to his Hardball Talk responsibilities from what I could tell.
Wow. I like Perkins even more now.
It's a sad day for me. Though admittedly, I haven't listened to anything new of theirs since about 2002.
I suspect they'll get up again.
It's the obvious joak, but it's a good one.
Seriously though, I liked this band. Tubthumping is obviously what they're known for, but they had some pretty solid albums (including the rest of Tubthumping and WYSIWYG), but the made a lot of stuff that didn't lend itself to being singles.
Also, They Might Be Giants had done a pretty awesome cover of Tubthumping that'd be worth checking out. And Chumbawumba themselves did an awesome cover of the BeeGee's "NY Mining Disaster 1941". It's haunting stuff.
Turns out people came very close to injury or death in the Twins-Rangers game on Sunday.
I said before the big lightning strike that they needed to get everyone off the field. Lightning is nothing to mess around with.
Great link to a very interesting read. I wonder if something will change - certainly couldn't hurt to at least consider implementing his suggestions.

They can celebrate the 49th and 29th anniversaries of the previous All-Star games!
Hey Buffalo (and others), thought you'd be interested in this article.
Back when I used to write on the internet about Buffalo stuff that was a frequent topic. There are a couple of really interesting subjects on the topic to be had around the internet. I did share this link with a couple of pals though. Thanks for sharing.
Found out a college buddy of mine lost his son in the past couple days. His son was exactly four months younger than Runner daughter, so it's quite a shock. No details on Facebook (not that there necessarily should be) and nothing on the web yet as far as news or obituaries.
Hug 'em if you've got 'em.
This. Junior's best friend was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes over the weekend. He's doing well now that they are treating it, but his parents are good friends and they are feeling overwhelmed. Both boys are 10 and have been best friends since they were 2. I doubt Junior understands how his friend's life is going to be impacted yet.
What have you found in Grandpa's attic?
Awesome.
From LEN3:
The radar readings are very exciting. I'm sure he was amped and knew he was only going one inning and who knows the accuracy of minor league radar guns, but still, to get that kind of velocity first time on an actual mound is a very good thing.
Amazing video game story developing. So, I read this story this morning about the OUYA, a new video game console based on the android platform. It has a kickstarter page, and this morning when I checked they were at 150,000. I checked again just now after seeing stories on gamespot and IGN, and the darn thing has already surpassed its 950,000 goal. I'm intrigued, and would really like to see where else this thing can go.
