The Twins aren't good, and the Rangers are. This isn't a likely win. Let's look at the pitching matchup and see if I change my mind:
DeVries vs. Feldman.
Even if it's Corey Feldman, the Rangers probably have the upper hand. So, fire up The Goonies or something instead.
...yeah, yeah...I'll probably watch this until I go to work.
SEND HIM!!
I like how Gladden remembers with exactitude the details of a non-playoff game in '87. Maybe with help from the Interwebs?
He probably has all of his career games on VHS tapes and plays them on loop to keep his recollection up to snuff.
Would that make them snuff films?
killer comment, bootsy.
Hey hey! The Twins get the early lead!
Pork ribeye!!
Run!
110,000!
Nice to see Revere draw a walk. Hopefully he gets better at that during the offseason.
I hope FSN is not showing the 50 Greatest Twins program during this rain delay.
This is a good plan. The Twins score and the other team doesn't get to bat. We win!
Is there anywhere in this damn country that it's not raining right now?
[Raises hand]
dido
Sunny, 84F here in H'town.
South Dakota. My part of it, anyhow.
Mine, too. And we could sure use some.
**waves**
Send some this way, please.
*gets ready to raise hand, but puts it down*
Of course the Twins take a rare lead and they get a rain delay. DeVries has thrown four or five pitches plus his warmups. I wonder if the Twins would allow him to go back out there even with a lengthy delay.
radio is piping some crap with some guy talking about the Red Sox with Atteberry. shut up, we don't care about them!
we don't care about them!
That pretty sums up my feelings about the Twins these days.
on the grill tonight: I'm making a smoked meatloaf, to go with roasted potatoes and carrots, and a salad. And I made a vegan chocolate pudding/custard for dessert. (I added a heaping tbsp of cocoa powder to this recipe, and substituted three heaping tbsp of brown sugar for the sugar). The flavor is good, if a bit sweet. It hasn't chilled yet, so I don't know if it will be thick enough. Next time I will probably use 4-5 tbsp of corn starch and reduce the sugar.
half slab of ribs, onion rings, cole slaw, lemonade, and two chocolate chip cookies
Not that I would ever advocate such a thing, but it strikes me that the rain would have given DeVries a perfect chance to come up and in on Kinsler. "It was wet! The ball slipped!"
he can use that excuse all afternoon as far as I'm concerned.
Any estimate on when the game will resume?
Rain delay? That explains the 'r' looking character on the crappy out-of-town scoreboard at Citi Field.
looks like 3:50 will be the start time
nope, that's nap time
MLB.tv is $10 for the rest of the season from now until tomorrow at midnight. I'm seriously considering it.
i did it. why not?
Thanks for the tip. Nice way to start out the subscription.
This is MLB.tv Premium, btw.
which comes with at bat `12!
I don't have any approved AtBat devices, but that may change by next year.
I was really hoping they'd forget and not let Texas bat.
Baseball is on!
Guys, we don't exactly have Cy Young on the mound today. We really need to make those plays.
Are you sure? Maybe they just got his name wrong.
For crying out loud, can't anybody make a play?
Keep this up and I'm gonna take RhuRu's suggestion of a nap, especially before my overnight shift.
you can blame the field for being sloppy, but if DeVries could actually strike someone out it wouldnt be a problem.
There's one! The field still made it look ugly.
Good job by DeVries to get out a mess that really wasn't his fault.
That mess was mostly Casilla's fault.
Plouffe is going to hit a HR this game.
Robby Inc says the Gardy is crushed Punto was traded to LA because he wont see him at Spring Training. you cant it that stuff up.
Future minor-league or bench coach for
the Twinswhichever team Gardy is Managing when Punto retires? Here. We. Go!
Pedro Florimon now has as many RBIs as Drew Butera this season. If Butera can't even catch the darn ball on strikeouts, just what is he good for?
Pitching.
Touche.
For shame, Butters. For shame.
Drew Butera with 2 passed balls so far. Does he think DeVries is a knuckleballer?
DeVries, that wasn't a strike. If it had been, Butera would've missed it.
Hey, somebody made a nice defensive play!
the right side of the Rangers infield has been pretty bad defensively this series.
muahahahahah. sneaky Ben!
That was tremendous.
Not sure what the actual call was, but it looked like Revere was interfered with and should have been safe regardless.
I dont think he caught the ball
I guess he did
Come on, how is that an out???
Ham of a catch!
I'm starting to think both teams were having drinking contests during the rain delay.
FSN just spent 2 half innings talking about Ron Washington. They have given up on the Twins too.
Joe Mauer, still good at baseball.
Plouffe the magic dragon!
Nap is over. Good game going, guys /alliteration
that whole sequence was fantastic. and we scored a run!
Jeff Gray comes in and the lead is shaved in half. Everyone knew that was going to happen.
Gray <--- no good
SEND HIM!! to the showers.
This is more versatile than I expected.
yeah. big thanks to sean, you guys. SEND HIM!!!!!! your appreciation.
I was half-joking when I suggested he code it in, but I shoulda known he'd do it and do it quickly and well.
okay, they can't get Gray out of this ballgame fast enough for me
Gray is amazing.
who would have thought Casey Fien and Jeff Burton would be among the best relievers on the staff.
SEND HIM!!
I can't believe this thing has its own macro now. That is awesome.
SEND HIM!!
i gotta say, i'm so happy that revere is playing well enough to be deserving of his spot in this team. i love that i don't have to like him irrationally.
oh, and SEND HIM!!
ACKKKK . Mauer was robbed.
hell of a catch
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
not a sweep! huzzah!
It's been so long, the puppies are old dogs now.
Puppies!!!
Good game by everyone not named Gray.
I know that no manager would be dumb enough to put Jeff Gray into a game his team had a chance to win. Therefore, I assume his line in the box score is a misprint, and that the Twins actually won 6-2. Good job by Cole DeVries and the bullpen, and we're still on track for 87-75!
