Perth:  Scott Mitchinson pitched 5.2 innings, giving up two unearned runs on four hits and a walk.

Melbourne:  Hirotaka Koishi allowed an unearned run on three hits and three walks in six innings.  Carlo Testa (Kansas City) was 2-for-3.

Game summary:  Perth led 3-0 after seven, then scored four in the eighth.

Perth:  Anthony Claggett struck out seven in 6.2 innings, giving up six hits and no walks.  Michael Ohlman (Baltimore) was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a two-run homer, scoring three times.

Melbourne:  Justin Huber was 2-for-4.

BRISBANE 3, SYDNEY 2 IN BRISBANE (GAME 1—SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

TwinsJacob Younis (Sydney) was 0-for-3.  JaDamion Williams (Sydney) was 1-for-3 with a double and scored once.  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 0-for-2.  Tim Atherton (Sydney) pitched five innings, giving up one run on three hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

Game summary:  Cody Clark hit a two-run homer in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie.  Sydney had the tying run on third with two out in the seventh.

Sydney:  Trent D’Antonio (Miami) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  James Robbins (Detroit) was 2-for-3.

Brisbane:  Chris Smith struck out five in five innings, allowing one run on three hits and two walks.  Carlos Alonso (Philadelphia) hit a home run.

SYDNEY 3, BRISBANE 2 IN BRISBANE (GAME 2)

Game summary:  Trailing 2-1 after six, Sydney scored two in the seventh.  Brisbane had runners on second and third with none out in the bottom of the ninth but failed to tie the score.

Sydney:  Craig Anderson pitched 6.2 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk.

Brisbane:   James Albury went five innings, allowing one run on two hits and five walks.  Hirotoshi Onaka was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two walks, driving in one.

Game summary:  Justin Howard (Pittsburgh) hit a two-run homer in the seventh to break a 5-5 tie.  Canberra scored once in the seventh and got the tying run to second base with two out.

Adelaide:  Angus Roeger was 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run, scoring twice.  Dylan Child (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-4.

Canberra:  K. C. Hobson (Toronto) was 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, and three RBIs.  Ben Warner was 2-for-3 and scored once.

CANBERRA 6, ADELAIDE 3 IN CANBERRA (GAME 2)

Game Summary:  Trailing 3-0, Canberra scored six in the seventh.

Adelaide:  Zachary Fuesser (Pittsburgh) struck out six in six innings, giving up three hits and two walks.  Angus Roeger hit a two-run homer.

Canberra:  Ryan Stovall was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Michael Wells was 2-for-4 and scored once.
