I'm off work, I'm dead in Werewolf and I'm pretty well caught up in the work I have to do for the iPad app. I'll take suggestions for my day, I guess.

How about setting me straight on more misheard 1990s lyrics?
Sorry, I still can't get over this "Pepper" lyrics thing. I dug EAR's CD-single of the song out of the basement yesterday and got it added to my iPod already.
And, dw, I also added Toad the Wet Sprocket's Fear: a brief pass at a few songs and the deep cuts aren't as weird as I remember, but feel more of forced attempts at being "deep".
I also came across my one Muslimgauze CD. I might be feeling that this morning.
From Allmusic.com via Discogs.com:
"[Bryn] Jones’s output was so idiosyncratic and prolific that he would remix anything he was given to suit his purposes and recorded an album almost every week... The Muslimgauze project ended tragically in 1999 when Jones died suddenly of a rare blood disease."
107 albums on Discogs.com, at least 42 posthumous. Had he not died, he'd probably have three or four decades-worth of releases built up.
You haven't gotten over it? I haven't gotten over it and I've got that BH Surfers song stuck in my head. I think I need a musical intervention!
Let me help, Pepper.

Thanks, man. Am feeling better already.
It's what we do.
"So keep your bankroll lottery
Eat your salad-day deathbed motorcade."
Ahh, I had that CD and the lyrics were in it and really I was over STP by that point, why did I ever buy that third album?
Though STP (with Meat Puppets) were my first ever concert just two years prior.
if U2 can do it, we mind as well give it a go!
I used "deep" there twice. Ecch.
replace "deep cuts" with "album cuts"
I think the non-singles Achtung! and Josh were better and deeper than anything I've heard yet on this re-listen to Fear.
"Pepper" was a pretty important song as a kid. There was a late night alternative radio show that broadcast from Arthur, ND called Manchester Avenue every night, I read about it in the paper sitting in the library at school in the 7th grade and started listening regularly. I've always been a bit of a loner, but back then I didn't have the internet and such to make acquaintances, so I ended up phoning the DJ nearly every night to request songs and chat.
I'd purchased Independent Worm Saloon around this time, and was super into it. One night he told me he had a new single from them he'd play, and it was "Pepper." I didn't know they had a new album coming out, even, so it was a complete surprise. I was pretty blown away by the song, and super excited to hear the rest of the album. I asked him to play that song almost every night after that (and "Hobo Humpin' Slobo Babe" by Whale). I probably wouldn't have asked to hear it every night if I knew it would be impossible to escape that summer.
I loved Electriclarryland when I heard it, but played it out pretty quickly. As I explored their back catalog, I didn't have the desire to listen to it for years. I pulled it up again on Spotify recently, and I've been listening to it pretty regularly. I have a much higher esteem for it now than I did then. "TV Star" and "Cough Syrup" are both songs I really love. Sure, Hairway to Steven is a better album. But it has its place.
Their last album took a weird, strange journey to the store shelves. I found a promo copy of the original version, The Last Astronaut, on some sketchy website by accident. It wasn't tagged or labelled well, it was just listed as a new Butthole Surfers album. I think I remember posting links to it on some message boards at the time, trying to share that this was out there with people. I can't remember why it didn't come out, I just remember that the artwork commissioned for the front of the album became the tray art for a Marcy Playground album. Eventually a lot of the songs got redone for After the Astronaut, some for better some for worse. But the original version of "Jet Fighter" is probably my favorite song by their '90s modern rock period. It was still good when it finally came out, but it felt way overproduced. I wonder if I still have that album kicking around on an old hard drive somewhere...
HHSB was like my least fave Whale track. The three songs featuring Tricky, especially "Kickin'" (the sexiest song about getting pregnant? at least the most effective use of conception as a come-on), plus "Pay For Me" and it's b-side cover of "Darling Nikki": now that was some quality Swedish alt-rock!
I figured with the NHL's reduced and condensed schedule there would be a Wild game every other day or every third day. But that doesnt seem to be the case since the Wild have played only 2 games since last Tuesday and the next game is not until tomorrow.
Those dishes in the sink won't wash themselves.
Heh. That's actually what I was doing when you typed that.
My wife has taken to not washing them in addition to them not washing themselves, unfortunately.
that's why God invented the dishwasher. Of course, those dishes don't put themselves into the dishwasher.
At least you don't have to leave a chart at your place detailing the number of times she has left you a surprise waiting to be cleaned up. I would say your living conditions have improved.
I just now put together what you were referring to. Ha!
Hooray for obscurity! Also, your old roommate is disgusting.
*sigh* I saw this over on CH in a Wolves trade rumor update article:
I desperately hope "they" is only two thirds of the triangle and RA is going to do some ass kicking when he reads that.
'a league source' is kind of vague. that could be Peks agent driving up the price.
True enough, could also be Denver trying to pump up Mozgov. I think what makes me sigh, though, is that this just feels so "Kahn".
They're worried about Pek staying healthy? No one on the team stays healthy. Sigh. They better not eff this up.
I liked that Robison article that said they should quit being dumb and not do anything. Then they can sign Pek! and Bud! (please, please sign Bud if at all possible, then play him with Rubio and Shved.) and we can get our hopes up again to see what creative ways the universe will have to crush those dreams next yera.
the Wolves need all the cap space they can get so they can sign Lebron James.
That would be a mighty ACL to watch blow out.
sign Pek! and Bud! and if the Wolves need cap space they can trade Kevin Love because this team is better off without him.
just like every storm the last 2 winters, early predictions for high snow amounts have given way to a shift in the storm/infusion of dry air and lower amounts (or no amount) of snow by the time. Yesterday, forecast was for a good 5-8 inches. No downgraded to 2-5. My guess tomorrow will bring trace amounts.
Never thought Id say it, but kinda miss those big 10" winter storms. (I realize the Twins Cites and areas up to the north have had an actual winter. But down here in southern Minnesota, thats not the case)
I was in a 20" snowfall a week and a half ago. That was epic.
I was in one (about 22") a few years ago (I think about 4 or 5) and a couple of 15+'ers as well. Epic seems like a good assessment. I think I shoveled three times that day and thanked modern meterology that it was known it was coming so I could stay home instead of going to work and getting stuck there.
I was in a two or three-inch rainfall today. That's about as interesting as it gets here most of the time.
In an hour or so, the Milkmaid and I are going to meet a good college friend of ours for lunch who also happens to be the last girl I was with before the Milkmaid. I'm wondering if either of them will bring it up in order to make me feel awkward (a difficult thing to do, but this has a chance at getting the job done). May your thoughts be with me, Citizens.
May your thoughts be with me, Citizens.
I'm not really in the mood for thinking of you with two different women.
Yeah, it's a challenge for me, too. It'll be a much smaller group than the usual.
That's a point.
You need to suggest that the two of them should get together. That way, lunch won't be awkward for the 3 of you anymore.
There is absolutely no downside to this plan as long as I get to...
...okay, it's a little early in the day to work this blue (over here).
It worked in Chasing Amy!
but only for a while.
This story only ends one way.
That meme plays well here without the caps and !!!
also a nice double-entendre
heh.
I'm back, guys. The only awkwardness came from Sour Cream spilling an entire soda into Laura's leather purse.
Sigh...
Just like I expected.
I had no idea until reading this that the phrase was inappropriate. In hindsight, I suppose I can understand its origin, but I truly had no idea.
No truth to the rumor that Jerry Kill is now the coach at Montana State.
This has been the best quarter of Wolves basketball in a pretty long time.
Caged Lion with 10 points and 4 boards, Pek 9 points and 4 boards, Rubio 5 points and 3 assists, and Luke 5 points 5 assists after first quarter.
that shooting assist by barea to Dwill was cute.
a Nelly sighting at the Wolves game.
Pek looking to go for a 30/20 tonight.
13/10 already
20th dubdub this season.
LETS TRADE HIM!!!oneone!!!
27/18 with a few seconds left- close enough! Time for me to start asking FTLT for stock tips.
Berkshire.
The Wolves have hit 3 for 4 three-pointers? Did David Stern forget to put the lid on their basket?
I see the 3rd quarter funk still remains.
It's like players get tired when there's only a three-man bench. Well, there's other players there, but RA doesn't want to play them, I guess.
His Chris Johnsn issues are very bizarre. Also, more Shed, Rick!
The Wolves really know how to keep other teams in a game.
Minnesota nice.
they are the Jack Morris of NBA teams.
I'd like to think they are a little more likable than that.
Will the Wolves score on something other than a free throw? I'm not confident they will.
Pek settles for 27/18
