  1. so Pitbull has a song that is basically a reworked version of 'Take On Me'
    gotcha.

  2. My interest in the home run derby is even less than my interest in the all-star game, and my interest in the all-star game is pretty minimal. The advantage to this is that I won't have to listen to Chris Berman tonight. Still, to each his own. If you enjoy it, I hope you have a good time watching it.

  3. Cuddyer very close to hitting the truck in left-center. That would have been cool, especially if he succeeded in hitting the windshield.

  4. Just realized that Cuddyer switched to wearing number 3 when he signed with the Rockies in honor of Killebrew.

  5. Cespedes with a Vlad swing. Hit a home run right before it was about to bounce on home plate.

  6. if Cespedes is in next years HR Derby, I think he might hit it over the LF grandstand

  7. "He knows one speed, Nomar...and that is hard."

    Hard speed?

Edit: I accidentally typed what Berman should have said before. That probably looked confusing.

The 1891 Home Run Darbye finished in an exciting 0-0-0-0 tie, with 2 maimed, 1 fatality (RIP), and 3 balls hit all the way to the out field.

    1. I wonder how many times it will be mentioned next year that Target Field is hard to hit home runs in.

  9. Matt Harvey asks New Yorkers what they think of Matt Harvey.

Im going to pick Cespedes to win this thing.

  11. Was visiting at my LCS*, and the owner and I had this idea: no one wants to hit in the HR Derby, right? Why not have guys like Dunn, Konerko, Pujols, Giambi, Soriano, etc. from the active HR leaders participate? They're not in the AS Game, they're not going to "screw up their swings" (it IS their swing) -- win-win.

  12. Today has got to be the most useless day of the year in terms of daily newspaper sports sections. Today's above-the-fold headline in the SacBee was about how Clay Kershaw was "upset" by Bruce Bochy being quoted as saying that Matt Harvey had "earned" the AS Game start by his performance in the first half even if the game weren't being held in NYC. Oy.
