I've never seen so many one-touches in such a compact space as the last few minutes of the Fulham-Arsenal match. It was like ping-pong.
Twins farmhand Logan Wade is now following me on twitter. I follow him, but have no idea why he'd want to follow me. He'll probably get bored and drop me before long, but it's kind of cool for now.
Some folks automatically follow anyone that follows them.
Not that such is the case here.
Probably looking for a baseball-forward internet minister twitterer. I know that's why I follow.
I'd let him know he's welcome at WGOM; might be another Neshek in the making.
Speaking of minor league ball players, do you know of a closer at some level in the minors who is currently having TJ, or other, surgery at mayo this month? I met some folks in the French Quarter who claimed to be the grandparents of such a pitcher in the Twins minor leagues.
Not off the top of my head, but that doesn't mean there couldn't be one. If I hear anything, I'll let you know.
Food coma is dissipating slowly. Post later. Shorter bS: totally worth the exorbitant price.
Paging twayn!
My tape deck in my car won't eject the cassette in there. Something whirrs and there's some rapid clicking, but then nothing except "E13" on the screen. It's a 1998 Buick. Google has been less than helpful so far. Any ideas? (other than take the whole unit out)
Transmission?
Stick a pencil in there and force the tape down and back so that it's properly set. If it comes up a little bit, decks often have a hard time getting the tape ejected.
(this is going off my experience in high school with a '94 Taurus doing the same thing)
If the playback head and capstan/pinch rollers are engaged in the cassette (i.e. stuck in the play position), you'll likely have to pull the unit out and take off the sheet metal cover to gain access to the guts. If the head/capstan wheel are not engaged in the play position you may be able to use a small flathead screwdriver (or two) to pop the cassette up off the guide pins and pull it out.
I was afraid of that. Getting to a stereo in a Buick is no simple task. I'm going to have to take the entire dash off.
mmm, engineering!
Heck, Mags, I'm curious about what you're listening to on cassette. I know it's possible to still buy some new releases on cassette, but I only have a few sentimental favorites left.
It's not an actual cassette. It's an adapter for my iPod. For what it's worth, I was listening to Binge Think HIstory when this all started.
is the cassette The Proclaimers 500 Miles song?
I know from experience that the B-side to the cassingle was a different song and not a live version or instrumental or repeat of side A.
Decent morning birding.
Bikeride through the Coon Rapids Dam Park (Hennepin side).
Along with some regulars, spotted:
Spotted Sandpiper (unspotted fall plumage)
Solitary Sandpiper
Lesser Yellowlegs*
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher*
Least Flycatcher (90% certain ID based on it having complete white eye-ring, looking like it had giant eyes, goldang empids need to speak more to aid ID)
A few warblers that didn't sit still long enough for me to really look at. Fall plumage makes it hard enough even when one gets a good look.
*First confirmed. I thought I saw a bunch of the Gnatcatchers in the spring but failed to look at confirming characteristics. (The tail, basically.)
when moving large furniture, especially down stairs, one should verify that there is sufficient clearance available first. thankfully there was room to flip the wall unit 90deg so that it had enough headspace.
btw, Spooky, is B.Buy having a sale on flatscreens during Labor Day weekend? 😉
Miller also referenced an incident in Minnesota where Hunter punched teammate Justin Morneau when he felt like Morneau wasn't receptive to his advice about being a better teammate. The confrontation would end up serving as a bonding moment for the pair, which cemented Hunter's position as a clubhouse leader. But it also illustrates that his anger sometimes gets the best of him. They may be part of the reason the Angels told Hunter they didn't have the money available to bring him during the offseason.
Right. Bonding moment. Cementing Hunter's position as a liider in the clubhouse.

Heh.
In light of DPWY's 2nd favorite eating experience ever... Bill Cosby Likes Ben's.
Liidership.
