MAZATLAN 10, MEXICALI 3 IN MAZATLAN
Mexicali: Kevin Kouzmanoff (Miami) was 4-for-4 with two doubles and a run. Mike Jacobs (Arizona) was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double.
Mazatlan: Jose Orozco was 3-for-4 with a triple, scoring twice and driving in one. Henry Mateo was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. Issmael Salas was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs.
The game: Mexicali scored one in the first, but Mazatlan came back with two in the second and four in the third and it was never close again.
GUASAVE 5, CULIACAN 4 IN CULIACAN
Guasave: Eduardo Arrendondo was 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs. Zelous Wheeler (Baltimore) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Ivan Araujo was 2-for-4 with a run.
Culiacan: Alex Liddi (Baltimore) was 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Maxwell Leon was 3-for-5 with a run. Amauri Sanit pitched seven innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walks with three strikeouts.
The game: Culiacan scored two in the sixth to tie the game at three. It stayed tied until the ninth, when Wheeler delivered a two-out two-run single. In the bottom of the ninth Culiacan scored once and had the bases loaded with one out, but a double play ended the game.
LOS MOCHIS 9, NAVOJOA 1 IN LOS MOCHIS
Navojoa: Abel Martinez was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double.
Los Mochis: Brian Burgamy was 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run (his second), driving in three. Juan Carlos Gamboa (Mets) was 2-for-4 with a grand slam. Jonathan Castellanos pitched six shutout innings, allowing four hits and one walk with two strikeouts.
The game: Los Mochis scored one in the third, two in the fifth, and two in the seventh to lead 5-0. Gamboa hit his grand slam in the eighth. The lone Navojoa run came in the ninth.
HERMOSILLO 7, OBREGON 1 IN OBREGON
Hermosillo: Carlos Gastelum was 4-for-4 with a walk, a double, and a home run, driving in four. Jerry Owens was 2-for-5 and scored twice. Hector Galvan pitched five innings, giving up an unearned run on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
Obregon: Karim Garcia was 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run. Armando Araiza (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The game: Hermosillo broke a scoreless tie with four in the third and it was never close again. Gastelum hit a three-run homer in the inning.
