Twins: Daniel Ortiz (Mayaguez) was 0-for-4. Kennys Vargas (Mayaguez) was 2-for-3.
Carolina: Enrique Hernandez (Houston) was 3-for-4. Ruben Gotay was 2-for-4. Bobby Bramhall pitched six innings, giving up one run on four hits and one walk with five strikeouts.
Mayaguez: Michael Taylor (Washington) was 3-for-4 with a three-run homer (his second). Jeremy Kehrt (Boston) pitched four shutout innings, allowing three hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
The game: Mayaguez scored in the third on a ground out and Carolina tied it at one in the fifth on a sacrifice fly. In the eighth, Taylor hit a three-run homer to put Mayaguez on top to stay.
PONCE 7, SANTURCE 3 IN SANTURCE
Ponce: Jordan Lennerton (Detroit) was 5-for-5 and scored once. Ivan DeJesus was 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Ryan Fraser (Mets) pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and no walks with one strikeout.
Santurce: Austin Wates (Houston) was 2-for-4 with a run. Edwin Maysonet was 2-for-4. Brian Escanio pitched three shutout innings, allowing two hits and no walks with two strikeouts.
The game: Ponce led 3-2 after one inning. Christian Colon hit a two-run homer to make it 5-2 after two and Ponce added two more in the fourth to make it 7-2. Santurce got one in the bottom of the fourth.
