A perfect inning for Dakota Watts.  A shutout in Caracas.

ANZOATEGUI 5, ARAGUA 4 IN ARAGUA

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 1-for-4 with a run.  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 0-for-3 with a walk and a run.  Josmil Pinto (Aragua) was used as a pinch-hitter and was 0-for-1.  Dakota Watts (Arauga) pitched a perfect inning.

Anzoategui:  Gorkys Hernandez (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, his third.  Gustavo Molina was 2-for-3 and scored once.  Paolo Espino (Chicago) pitched six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts.

Aragua:  Wilson Ramos (Washington) was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.  Guillermo Quiroz (San Francisco) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Jose Capellan pitched two shutout innings, allowing one hit and no walks.

The game:  Two singles, a walk, and another single put Anzoategui up 2-0 in the second. Quiroz delivered an RBI single in the fourth to make it 2-1, but Anzoategui got a three-run homer from Hernandez in the fifth to build the lead to 5-1.  Aragua got single runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth to cut the lead to 5-4 and had the tying run on third with two out in the eighth, but their last four batters were retired.

MAGALLANES 10, CARACAS 0 IN CARACAS

Magallanes:  Renny Osuna was 3-for-4 with a walk and a grand slam, scoring twice.  Eliezer Alfonzo was 3-for-5 with a home run (his eighth) and two runs.  David Bromberg struck out five in five innings, giving up one hit and one walk.

Caracas:  Gregorio Petit was 1-for-2 with a walk.

The game:  It was scoreless through four.  Adonis Garcia (Yankees) delivered a two-run single in the fifth to make it 2-0.  Alfonzo homered in the sixth to give Magallanes a 3-0 lead and a bases-loaded walk in the eighth made it 4-0.  Magallanes put the game out of reach with six in the ninth, including a grand slam by Osuna.
