Guasave: Jesus Lopez was 1-for-3 with a double.
Hermosillo: Jose Aguilar was 3-for-3 with a walk and two doubles, scoring once and driving in one. Carlos Alberto Gastelum was 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Nathan Reed (Boston) pitched six innings, allowing one hit and no walks with three strikeouts.
The game: A sacrifice fly scored one in the first, Aguilar singled in one in the second, and Gastelum singled in one in the fifth to make it 3-0 Hermosillo. Hermosillo put the game out of reach with three in the sixth. Guasave came closest to scoring in the third, when Lopez doubled with one out. Guasave did not advance a man past second base in the entire game.
NAVOJOA 16, LOS MOCHIS 4 IN NAVOJOA
Los Mochis: Jesus Arredondo (Dodgers) was 1-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Brian Burgamy was 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Juan Carlos Gamboa (Mets) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.
Navojoa: Fernando Flores was 4-for-4 with a double and two home runs, driving in five. Luis Fonseca was 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBIs. Hector Velazquez struck out six in five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks.
The game: In the second, Arredondo doubled in one and a wild pitch scored another to put Los Mochis ahead 2-0. Flores singled in one in the bottom of the second and Jon Weber doubled in a run in the third to tie it at two. Navojoa took control in the fifth with six runs. They had three homers in the inning, a two-run homer by Fonseca, a solo shot by John Lindsey, and a two-run homer by Flores. Navojoa added four more in the sixth to go ahead 12-2 and put the game well out of reach.
