Mauer sitting. Not too surprised to see that.
Its like Nolasco never left.
Hey Ricky you're so fine you blow my mind...
Still up for mini-caucus tomorrow? What times work for you (and others)?
I might be able to still though I won't know for sure until tonight
I'm good for whatever.
Mike Berardino @MikeBerardino
Drew Butera is back in the AL Central. #Royals have acquired veteran backup catcher from #Angels.
Twins baseball!
That was an UGLY at bat by Santana
Local blackout rules need to go away.
Yeah no joke.
I do like that this year's Twins seem more fond of take-back runs rather than give-back runs.
Nolasco excepted.
It is gonna be awesome when he resurrects his career in Pittsburgh.
As long as he stops wrecking it here.
Worley with 0.1 rWAR / 0.4 fWAR so far this year. His xFIP isn't so great but his BABIP appears to be worse than average, so he'll probably end up average-ish this year.
I see that the good Nolasco showed up for this game, "good" being relative.
He's eligible for the win!
Man, that Win stat looks less legit every day.
Baseball's a funny sport.
This club is scoring runs and I'm not sure how they are doing it. They are above average in runs in the AL, despite sporting a 91 OPS+.
OPS records all of the events but is ignorant of sequencing. So it could be the top-half of the lineup is really good and consistently strings together hits while the bottom-half is really bad and can't do any of that. Or they're just getting lucky in the sequencing, such as extra base hits coming after walks and singles.
Looking over the stats and this team is pretty bad in certain areas. They're 14th in stolen bases with eight. They have been caught stealing nine times. Also 14th in home runs.
but you can get the OPS splits by point in order. Not quite the sequencing, but closer.

Looks like the bottom third of the order has been much better than league averages.
But it's tOPS+ that matters with my hypothesis that some number of consecutive lineup positions were better than the overall average and were able to sequence things well.
Although, that BABIP from 7-3 might be helping to string together hits.
well, I think we can at least agree that the 4-5-6 hitters have suh-hucked (and that is a pretty mediocre OBP from the leadoff spot).
Lots of veterany swings and misses from the new guy is my guess.
I saw a stat at 1 point that the Twins led the world in batting average with runners in scoring position and 2 outs.
Also, the Twins are still recovering from those first three games in which they had a .349 OPS. Since then, not counting today, the Twins have a .728 OPS, which is 12 points better than average and would be 7th best in the AL if it was for the full season. They are averaging 5 runs per game in that stretch, which is 0.6 better than average and would put them third in the AL.
Wow that was a LONG double. Plouffe!
Four out save opportunity?
Awesome!
I'm kinda liking this Molitor guy.
Twins rock.
TWINS BASEBALL!!!!!!!
Puppies!
Heck of a homestand.
Quite a homestand for the Twins. They win this one, 6-5, and are now 3 games better than .500 for the first time since the end of 2010.
With the win, the Twins improved to 16-13 on the year to be at least three games above .500 for the first time since the last game of the 2010 season.
-Rhett Bollinger and Jane Lee
That's weird, I was coming to post this:
Twins are now three games above .500 for the first time since 2010. Seriously.
Not only are Twins 3 games above .500 for 1st time since 2010, but all 29 MLB teams had accomplished that modest benchmark more recently.— Phil Miller (@MillerStrib) May 8, 2015
Damn, it was a day game? And my log? And I missed it while doing zilch?
On the upside, I hear with this win, the Twins are three games above .500 for the first time since 2010!
Are you sure? I don't see any source tweet for that.
It was also the free game of the day, not that i could watch it at work.
You can always watch an archive of it and I believe that they lift the blackout rules after so many hours. Also, mlb.com has a condensed game showing most of the plays.
I don't really like watching whole games after they've happened.
But blackout rules weren't my problem, stupid web filters were. I couldn't even watch it on my phone because I'm not paying for MLB At-Bat and the video won't work on it unless you do.
