Honestly, I'm okay with the Twins flying under the radar a little bit. It's when all the popular folks start picking them to win that they tend to choke (stupid 2006). I love that they have the best record in baseball right now. Let the big names go on and on about the Yankees and the Dodgers. What matters to me is if they can get to the end.
I'm fine with the team being ignored, too, but I'm tired about reading about the Yankees. And that they're still winning.
It's not like the Twins have been playing a ton of great teams, but how Yankees is it that they would play over half their games with the Orioles while everyone is on the DL? Their schedule has been tissue soft so far. But hey, I'd prefer they win the division so the Twins wouldn't have to play them until the ALCS when they lock up the #1 seed.
The Yankees have a lot of guys on the DL, but as Cory Provus pointed out when the Twins were playing them, it's not like they're winning with a bunch of replacement-level players. Their substitutes are better than the regulars on some teams. When you're the Yankees, you can do that.
They figured out that depth is possibly the most important thing in roster construction these days.
Thankfully, the Indians did not figure that out in time.
They not only figured it out, they also were willing to spend the money to do something about it.
I laughed when I saw this:
1. Wins 2. Winning percentage 3. Run differential 4. Runs 5. Home runs 6. Strikeout percentage 7. Doubles Need more?
I thought the same thing about the mlb.com image when I stopped over just now. It just. Doesn't. Matter. How good the Twins are. I've learned to love it.
Got confirmation yesterday that Philosofette will have a hysterectomy next Tuesday. I think I'm more worried about it than she is. Then again, I've not been suffering the ill effects that are being address here, whereas she's been dealing with them for a while. Prayers appreciated.
Wishing her an uneventful procedure and rapid recovery, and you peace of mind. You’ll both be in my prayers.
Wishing a successful and uneventful surgery. Just think after recovery, no more checking the calendar if you and the Philosofette want to have some "personal time."
This is admittedly true enough. That said, we both always kind of thought a fifth child might make its way into the family at some point...
Oof, sending well wishes to you both.
Oof is right. Best wishes for an uneventful recovery.
Will be thinking of you and family. Recruit family help for the kids!
You are all in our prayers.
Thinking of you both. Hope everything proceeds smoothly.
Good luck to you all. Here's hoping for a cure to the previous ill effects, without too rough a recovery.
Looks like the soundbar attached to my PC died amongst the power problems I had yesterday. I think I know what to ask for for Father's Day.
If you haven't checked it out, take a look at the first pitch before yesterday's White Sox game.
What if St. Paul is Carl?
Ally Sheedy is NE Mpls.
You read my mind.

Buster has always secretly rooted for the Twins.
