Given the goings on of the world I find myself in a lot of dark moods these days. the pAper chAse spent their career making albums about the occult, serial killers, and social panic. For whatever reason this kind of music sustains me in these moods. I’m sorry. Welcome to what’s sure to be a fun week!

  1. i liked this one a lot.
    i seem weirdly drawn to bands with strangely stylized names.
    if i had i band, there's a 93% chance i would have employed that.

    1. Have you ever listened to their albums? They’re one of those bands I love but probably underrate just how much I like them. I find myself going back to their music all of the time. Each record is close to a concept album, with a bunch of recurring motifs and uh they kick ass. Hide the Kitchen Knives and Now You Are One of Us are my favorites and God Bless Your Black Heart is super good, too. The others are fine but these three are just so good.

      Their vocalist/guitarist, John Congleton, is one of the best producers around now. He did a solo thing which was good but not as good as those TPC albums. Also all the anxiety and strife those dealt with are just our reality these days so I think he feels like he’s done his part haha.
