  1. This is fantastic.
    Never thought of this song as jazzy, but for the first half of the performance they really swing it.

    1. i love using the keytar tag, but with a heavy heart i did not because i don’t think that rig qualifies. what would you call that exactly?

      1. It's just a keyboard with shoulder straps attached to it; early influence for the Hillbilly Rockeyboard. Devo and Thomas Dolby were probably the earliest actual keytar players. Or maybe Roger Powell's Probe keytar.

        The accordion beat them all.

          2. The song's title, coined by the band's drummer Chuck Ruff, derives from the fact that the original recording of the song was much longer than the final version, as the band would often deviate from the arrangement into less structured jams. The track required numerous edits to shorten it. The end result was spliced together from many sections of recording. Winter frequently refers to the appropriateness of the name also in relation to its "monster-like, alumbering beat".
