  1. SIx Nations this weekend -

    Today:
    Wales-Italy at 8:30 AM Central
    Ireland-Scotland at 11:00 AM

    Tomorrow:
    England-France at 9:00 AM

Tomorrow's game is the only one that should be close, but I can see Ireland throwing a win over the Scots away.

  2. Looks like today's game vs. the Pirates is on MLBN. I better get my chores done so I can watch.

      1. try sorting by production budget and displaying profitability above the line and budget below the line. Very revealing, assuming we believe the data. Basically, profitability is unrelated to production budget.

        1. Right, though certain movies need huge budgets to be profitable. Meanwhile, horror movies can be hugely profitable despite almost no budget (see the #1 most profitable movie for proof of this).

For instance, if $10 million had been put into Transformers, it would have been an enormous box office flop, and not just a critical one.

      2. Wow, that Avatar sure was profitable. Must be a really great movie. (ducks and hides)

  3. Is making fun of commenters on a PETA-related article crossing into the Forbidden Zone? Because I was amused by this spoof. h/t to The Dish.

  4. I'm spending too much time today refreshing news sources looking for results of Rubio's MRI.

    1. What I can tell you is the Wolves are giving 8.5 points to NOLA tonight. Which seems high when knowing nothing about Love/Rubio.

  5. I ran in the Flowertown 10K this morning and had a very good result! Having a pace in the mid 8s makes me feel like a real runner.

I can't be positive, but I think I was probably the top 200+ pound runner in the field. I passed two people during the last mile that looked like they might be over 200, although one of them was probably only about 5'6", so he very well might have been under 200.

    1. Wow - that's a great pace, House. Well played.

Am prepping for a Duathlon this next weekend in Brooklyn (Prospect Park).

Have been hitting the bike pretty hard, tho, lot's of acid in the legs. Trainer at my club said to soak in bath with a bottle of Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar. Just did - we'll see how that plays out.

      1. Before last night, I didn't think it was possible for me to dislike Kobe Bryant any more. Truly impressive of him.

        1. If there is a silver lining to this, it's that he should be back for next season and will still be young enough to participate in the next Olympics...after this one that is.

            1. Rubio prefers the set shot to the jump shot. I'm more worried about his defense.

            2. I had my ACL surgery just a bit over two months ago. I'm doing plyometrics, stationary bike, squats, pretty much everything but running. Rubio will be back early next season, I have no doubt.

    1. He can come back. This sucks, for sure. I think this means Luke will not be traded, eh?

Darn it. I am sad for Ricky.

  6. At least the Twins finally found some offense. Danny Boy with two extra-base hits, including a three-run HR. His leadoff double led to him scoring on a sac fly, so he's been the offense so far as the Twins lead 4-2.

    1. Wow, I had every intention of watching that or listening to it. Between impossibly large stacks of laundry and bickering kids (well, I don't have large stacks of bickering kids; that was only a modifier for the laundry), I somehow spaced the game. I'm in midseason form!

    1. "That's the great thing about it, I finally got that guy who is a multipositioned guy who also catches," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "I've kind of been wanting that for a few years around here. It's good to have him here."

Finally! I guess Cuddyer wasn't enough of a team player to try catcher.

      1. Of course, Gardy would've had that years ago if he'd just moved Mauer to third base. We already know he can play first. Multiposition catcher!

  7. Now, don't you feel bad? She's somebody's grandma.

How does one 85-year-old North Dakota woman cause pasta discourse to go viral? By writing about – and highly praising – the Olive Garden, the Italian chain restaurant that many Americans seem to love to diss.
