New Orleans @ Target Center 7pm

the game is on NBATV, but not on FSN

as you might know, Ricky Rubio is out for the year with that stupid knee injury. You know what, its not time to swallow the pill of defeat. No, its time to stand up and rally around this team! We got a player that no other team has...Pek! We got an MVP caliber player in Kevin Love! We got a Hall of Fame coach in Rick Adelman! We are going to the playoffs! GUARANTEE! RAH!

  1. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think losing Pek would be worse. The drop-off from Pek to Darko seems much, much worse than the drop from Rubio to Barrea (or whomever his backup is)

    1. I was going to write that you're slightly crazy, but I thought about it a bit more and you might be right. Pek isn't going to be as great without Rubio threading the ball through tiny gaps to him, but we know that Darko sucks 92% of the time no matter who the passer is.

  2. A friend of mine bought courtside seats a couple of months ago for the game tonight as a retirement gift for his dad. What a bummer to get no Rubio (but hopefully Love will be back).

  3. I can't be the only one having slight difficulty (in comparison to the norm) getting excited about this one, can I?

Ugh. I'm as far from believing in fate or karma and whatnot as any person can be, but cosmically, a team that's been this bad for this long definitely didn't deserve this. Ugh.

  4. I was really surprised that it was an ACL tear. Usually, that involves some sort of twisting of the knee.

While it sucks to lose Rubio, I'm pretty sure this is going to be the catalyst for one of those things where the Wolves go on something like a 15-2 stretch.

  5. should have mentioned it...but this is kind of a must win game because this is the last home game before a 2 week/7 games roadie

    1. yeah, Wolves ratings on FSN are up 140% this year and they couldnt find a way to broadcast a home game with their FSN+? Heck, dont need announcers, just the stadium feed will do

    1. also, WCCO-AM carries the games, so if you live in the Upper Midwest and have a transistor radio, you should get the game.

A radio station in Mankato switched from hard rock to news talk. The only positive is that they are carrying more Wolves games. and listening to sports on FM radio is awesome.

      1. I am right on the edge of WCCO's territory- I can understand the play-by-play, but it's about 33% static. I wish a couple of the stations out here would pick up Wolves games.

        1. Live audio is free on NBA.com. You can pick which team's feed you want to listen to.

    2. My stream's aren't spotty, in general, unless I fail to maximize my feed and a popup ad robs me of Luke Ridnour's floater to win the game...

  6. By my math, with Pek and Love on the court any missed T-Wolves shot has roughly a 30% chance of being rebounded by one of those two. I love second-chance points.

  7. Commercial for the Wolves: 'Get your season tickets now, or someone else will'
    I like it

  8. this game started out promising, then kind of hit a lull here in the 2nd quarter, and now down by 7. yuck

  9. This has to be such a hard game for the Wolves to get up for. I think how the Wolves finish this game will serve as a barometer for the rest of the season.

    1. Chris Eliot recently did a stint as Lily's dad on 'How I Met Your Mother'. He was a black hole of comedy, and glad he hasnt been on lately.

  10. this is the time where someone odd off the Wolves bench goes on a tear. Wayne Ellington is going to have 10 points this quarter

  11. It is tougher to make shots when you don't have wide open looks.

  12. New Orleans has been trying to give this game away since about the 4:00 mark. The Wolves have not really capitalized.

    1. Considering that only four Wolves have really contributed anything to the game, I'm a little surprised they are close here at the end.
