(Reuters) - Four giant card-payment processors and large U.S. banks that issue debit and credit cards were hit by a data-security breach after third-party services provider Global Payments Inc discovered its systems were compromised by unauthorized access.
It was not immediately clear how many cardholders became victims of the breach, which affected MasterCard Inc, Visa Inc, American Express Co and Discover Financial Services, as well as banks and other franchises that issue cards bearing their logos.
sweet :/
I assume they will figure out some way to lower all our credit scores because of this.
And a way to increase fees.
since its cool and cloudy and I really dont want to mow the lawn, Im listening to some albums from my collection that have been collecting dust because they havent been played in a while. You should play along too!
First up Neil Young 'After the Gold Rush'. I cant tell you why this album fell out of my rotation, but I think it needs to get back in.
Second mowing of the lawn this year, and I broke down and wore a mask against the oak pollen. I was self conscious wearing it, but I don't really have an alternative right now.
Since the middle of the week, there's already a plethera of dragonflies and damselflies; I still can't get over how far ahead everything is this year.
Heh, second mowing... We're on our 6th mowing of the weeds. The drought killed any hopes of grass in about 35% of my yard, and I've been fighting tooth and nail to wrestle the weeds into submission. We just put in a new bed this morning replacing the 8 foot square juniper that fell victim to the heat, and now have to turn our attention to ailing pecan trees. The early heat here doesn't inspire much confidence that anything will survive the summer to come.
We were just hanging out last night, so I threw on Dr. John's Afterglow. It's not a great album, but, for a chill, quiet Friday evening at home it was just about right.
I'm loading essential tunes on my iPhone. Physical Graffiti holds up pretty well.
By far the best Zeppelin album out there.
my favorite is Led Zeppelin II
I think II is my favorite too.
since its cool and cloudy
You know, in answer to Spooky's original CoC line, I'm going to say that, given our recent stretch of good weather, that this does qualify as "going out like a lion." It's all relative.
Pirates looking to run early and often, it appears.
I would like to thank the Twins for being considerate and announcing Butera being optioned today instead of tomorrow.
Twins bringing out the boomsticks to todays game. Morneau had 2 hits in the second inning.
Capps in midseason form- gives up a homerun to the first batter he faces. Pitching to the score!
The Prague Vikings took 2nd place today in a 9s rugby tournament*. I scored 5 tries, including a hat-trick in our first match. I actually got to run over a guy smaller than me to score one of them. Finally being on the right side of one of those, I can see how the big lads enjoy it so much.
*9s is a variation on rugby league, which is a form of rugby more similar to American Football. Rugby Union is what I usually play (and its variation 7s).
So it seems that even in Prague, the Vikings can't win the championship.
Through three, Kobe is 0-15 and the Lakers trail the Hornets by 8 at home.
Huh, I bet Bynum could do better than that shooting three-pointers.
It didn't turn out well.
According to LEN3, Gardy denied Torii Hunter's version of the playoff game with the Yankees that Torii said Lew Ford refused to pinch hit.
"Lew Ford may have fallen down in the back room trying to get loose and I couldn’t find him, but he didn’t. He may not have been able to find the dugout, but I’ve never said I can’t hit."
I'm tired of ii. I've been tired of ii since his campaign to get paid. I'm not as wounded by his farewell tour as I was a couple of years ago, but FFS when you aim to do a hatchet job get the effing facts straight first.
the original article was written by noted hack Jon Heyman.
well, that'll dismember any facts that ii might have had right
AAA Columbus probably plays Rochester a lot. Slowey can get his revenge there!
The NBA is a big boy league. David Thorpe:
When Adam Morrison was an NBA rookie, he averaged 14.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists (per 36 minutes), made 37.6 percent of his field goals and hit 33.7 percent of his 3s. His team won 40 percent of its games and went 7-16 in games he started.
This season, rookie Jimmer Fredette is averaging 14.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists (per 36 minutes), makes 38.3 percent of his shots and hits 37.4 percent of his 3s. His team is winning 35 percent of its games and has gone 1-5 in games he's started. He has lost most of his rotation minutes to a 5-9 player who was the last pick of the NBA draft.
it looks like Adam Morrison is not playing in the NBA this year. Its crazy that all those good Gonzaga teams of the early 2000s didnt produce very many NBA players:Dickau, Morrison, Frahm, Turiaf. Ronnie Turiaf and his surgically repaired heart is still in the league.
Adam Morrison is playing in Turkey with Besiktas, IIRC. I only know this because he is a teammate of Pops Mensah-Bonsu.
I thought of this very subject when Sid told me that Cole Aldrich is barely burning up the D League.
KU wins. So yeah, if they burn down Lawrence (again), it was great knowing all of you. (Fireworks and drunk people abound outside my house right now)
Kansas/Kentucky for the finals...I think I'll pass.
Drew Butera sent to Rochester
Out long national nightmare is over!
I'm going to assume that using "out" there instead of "our" was on purpose considering who we are talking about.
And there was great rejoicing!
Best news I've heard from spring training yet!
Mission Accomplished
and apparently Sean Burroughs HAS made the team.
Shows how little attention I've paid. I didn't even know they'd signed Burroughs.
Mags' excuse for not knowing who the Twins have signed is better than yours, bS.
Dude, California is like, a different country!
So, it turns out that the USA Today app is every bit as bad as the actual newspaper. And you can't even wrap fish in it.
Today's Crowd Cut coupon has Timberwolves tickets at 83% off.
At first I thought you were saying we should tell people that a former Twin is gay.
Then I re-read and it doesn't say "Out a Mike Lamb" after all.
Ruh roh.

Interesting lineup today. Plouffe at second base with Dozier at short. Morneau still DHing.

cc to CoC: You got mail, sorry for the delay!
The Kevin Slowey Fanclub suffers a setback.
AAA Columbus probably plays Rochester a lot. Slowey can get his revenge there!

KU-UK spells kuuk. Just saying.
baker to the DL.
Linsanity stopped.
Boo.
