The Twins continue their quest to beat all of Chicago by taking it to Chicago and playing an actual MLB team. Neither starter has been good this year; both have an ERA very close to 7. Festa at least has the shine of a prospect that he could halve his ERA while Hendricks, does not.
I forgot to mention that the Cubs take on the White Sox next so Chicago could make other Chicago have the modern MLB losing streak record and then celebrate that with fireworks at the end of the game.
Nice outing for Festa. Five innings, no runs and nine strikeouts. In line for a win if the lead holds.
Thielbar wants Festa to get that win so he strikes out the side. Nice.
Diamondbacks beat the Guardians in extras so Twins can pick up a game if the lead holds. Royals also down two runs after six.
Alcala also is on team Festa with a nine pitch inning.
Duran gets a favorable swing call for strike three to end the inning. I have to think Jax will get the 9th.
Wallner splits the gap and puts one in the ivy. Dude is strong.
And Kepler pulls a single down the first base line, Wallner wisely held at third.
