  1. Strat and free (and others who may want to travel farther), Sheenie will be entering the Kingfield Farmers Market berry bake-off today at 1030. She's the defending champion in the category and is trying a new recipe.

      1. She didn't win this time. She lost to a delicious blueberry crumble.

  2. Holy balls, the grounds crew at Wimbledon is fast. Announcement of a rain delay to clear court and tarp done...about 40 seconds.

          1. There are an insane number of tats here, including the neck region. In fact, it's almost more surprising when I see someone without a single tattoo. A large percentage of people in their 20s and a good number up to the age of 50 are covered on legs, arms or both. One of my store's four managers has tattoos on at least 30% of his body. I see no fewer than 20 people with "sleeves" on a daily basis. There's a regular shopper with the Twins TC logo on his neck (he's tall, too) among several other disjointed images. If there are any tattoo artists out there, come to Phoenix. You will never run short on jobs.

  3. I didn't grow up really caring about tennis too much but I had come to appreciate the game watching Federer. The past few years has been a real treat for people with even passing interest in the game.

      1. He does. Federer never seems flustered while Murray always seems five seconds away from imitating McEnroe.

  4. According to the NOAA, the heat index in WDM topped out at 111° during our rugby tournament yesterday. I drank at least 1 gallon each of water and gatorade.

  5. There's a race team in F1 with a Chelsea FC sponsorship. New least favorite racing team.

Update: You can see the badge in this pic, just behind the driver's cockpit.

  6. With tonight's Twins game starting at 6:05 cst and Yankees/Sox starting at 705 cst is the Twins game going to be blacked out once the battle between America's teams starts?

  7. The wife and I and a guy I met at a time trial earlier this year (NBBW calls him my BFF) went on a cool ride through coastal Connecticut this morning.

I noticed something on the road and stopped to pick it up. It was a Shiv. I know we've joked about shivs before (either here or back on the Stick), but honestly I had never seen one before. It was a piece of metal, part of a knife, honed down to fit easily into a palm, and easy to hide like in your sock. I showed it to NBBW and BFF, then tossed it into the street.

I hope I never regret not keeping it.

    1. I thought the league fined the team for this. Maybe they did and that just wasn't disclosed.

    2. Maybe the publicity of this rule will force a change. With most ballparks having state of the art scoreboards it's incredible that MLB won't allow close plays to be shown on the screens. In the NFL, such plays are regularly shown and I would argue the crowds are much rowdier and drunkier than even the worst MLB park.

I'm not holding my breath however.

  8. This was a requested feature from a while ago (from FTLT I think).

    Putting this:

    1. I don't know if we say this often enough, so:

      sean, you kick ass. Seriously.

    2. we need a page for seannovations, so that we don't forget how to do these things.

      1. Are you saying it's cooked well?

I'm almost done with a few more features that will hopefully be live before tomorrow.

          1. This reminds me, the graphics that people have been posting for the last couple of weeks have been amazing, too. Nice, bootsy!

    3. I think I'm done now. It should now handle blank elements, re-rank the rows when sorting, hide fake-header rows, and maybe a few other things I don't remember.

  9. heh

    1. Oy. 9 hits with zero runs. How many times can a dude do that?

[edit]: Of course the dude pitched 8 innings... nevermind me.

  10. Holy cats, the sky just opened up here and began to pour. I don't think I've seen rain like there here ever.
