I'm in a bit of a musical funk right now, between enthusiasms. Maybe some randomness will get me going agin.

And "Don't Speak" was one of the songs growing up.
N'oh!
That Dierks song was one of the best country singles of the Aughties. Listening to that over and over probably warmed me up to be receptive to Ha Ha Tonka.
Huh, the song is just okay for me. Settle For A Slowdown is one of my favorite songs of the Aughties.

Please tell me that the Dino Jr song is a Dr.Dre cover.
Wait, that was "Let Me Ride"... nevermind.
And Bug came out in 1988, The Chronic in '92. I wonder what it would be like for Dre to cover Dinosaur Jr.
Phooey, I was thinking that was one of their new albums.
Note to myself: those are Beyond and Farm, and the only covers on either are two bonus tracks on Farm: the Zombies and Elyse Weinberg.

Ashtray Heart Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band Doc at the Radar Station
Thank You For Your Love Antony & the JohnsonsSwanlights
Nice to see the Captain, Doc at the Radar Station is my favorite Beefheart album.
"Somebody's had too much to think"
Mr Van Vliet could turn a phrase.
By the way, the 8-9-10 combo could give a guy whip lash. From lilting British Isles folk, to Beefheart's demented, whiskey-stained croak, to Antony's otherworldly swoon. Random, indeed.
I'm feeling your midsection there... Breeders and the Orb, highlights from 20 years ago.
The Sleigh Bells show was a lot of fun. I wish they had a full band live, and it felt like it lasted all of 15 minutes once they got going, but it was still high energy and fun.
1. Drake - Over - Thank Me Later 2. The Hold Steady - The Sweet Part of the City - Heaven is Whenever 3. Kanye West - Stronger - Graduation 4. Spoon - The Mystery Zone - Transference 5. Panda Bear - Slow Motion - Tomboy T. TV on the Radio - Staring At the Sun - Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes
They're all in the $5 bin at Amazon. It's amazing to think that I got 3 albums for $15 when 3 or 4 years ago that might have gotten me 1 CD.
Enjoy the Tonka!
Super late, but oh well...

9. Simon and Garfunkel - "Bridge Over Troubled Water" - Essential Simon and Garfunkel
10. Queen - "Another One Bites the Dust" - Platinum Collection
Wow. Eight Rock and Roll HOFers out of 10 is a pretty amazing random shuffle (even if the HOF is ridiculous).
