here is my newfound love, tUnE-yArDs. normally, i'm pretty anti-looping pedal. in fact, i'm normally very anti-looping pedal (especially someone that uses two of them), but merrill garbus makes it work for me. her new studio album "w h o k i l l" is fabulous as well. even peckish jane likes it (which surprised me, i'll admit). anyway, this is one of those acts to keep an eye on:
2011
and for fun, one more after the jump...
here's "bizness" performed on studio 360:
I am going to need to listen to this at least 6 more times before I can develop an opinion. It is something, for sure.
I had been avoiding this act, due in part, because of the silly lower-upper case spelling of the name. I may have to let that go. These were terrific.
Fix it by just calling them Tune-Yards and their album Whokill.
I looked at M.I.A.'s third album title, presented as /\/\ /\ Y /\ and immediately determined that it was entitled Maya.
I think that is going to cost them (her) at least a point when I vote on this video.
yeah, it's pretty unnecessary. even though homegirl is a hipster's wet dream right now, i'm still really digging on her.
well, i got my weekly 4 star rating out of the way.
