Lehigh Valley 3, Rochester 1 in Lehigh Valley. The IronPigs scored two in the first and it was all they needed. Brandon Roberts had two hits. Toby Gardenhire's sixth-inning homer was the only Red Wings run. Andrew Baldwin struck out ten in six innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk. Cole DeVries worked two shutout innings, giving up a hit and striking out two.
New Britain 7, Binghamton 3 in Binghamton. The Rock Cats scored three in the fifth to take a 6-1 lead. Mike Hollimon singled, tripled, and homered, scoring three times. The home run was his fourteenth. Joe Benson hit two home runs, giving him thirteen, and drove in five. Chris Parmelee and Evan Bigley each had two hits. Blake Martin got the win despite allowing three runs on seven hits and five walks in five innings. Deolis Guerra pitched three shutout innings, giving up just one hit.
Ft. Myers 5, Jupiter 1 in Jupiter. The Miracle scored four in the second. Oswaldo Arcia singled, doubled, and homered. Danny Rohlfing had two hits. B. J. Hermsen went six innings, giving up a run on eight hits and a walk. Matt Hauser threw three shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.
Beloit 10, Kane County 1 in Kane County. The Snappers broke a scoreless tie with a three-run sixth, then scored six in the ninth to put it away. Jairo Perez doubled and hit his thirteenth homer, driving in four and making his average .335. Adam Bryant singled and doubled. Lance Ray and Daniel Ortiz each had two hits. Ryan O'Rourke got the win, going 5.1 innings and somehow giving up just one run on seven hits and five walks. Pedro Guerra struck out the side in the ninth.
Elizabethton 7, Bristol 3 in Elizabethton. The Twins trailed 3-2 before a three-run fifth. Rory Rhodes had three hits. Eddie Rosario singled and homered, his twelfth. Matej Hejma and Max Kepler each singled and doubled. Miguel Sano hit his fifteenth homer. Derek Christensen struck out seven in 4.1 innings but allowed three runs on two hits and four walks. Corey Williams got the win with 2.2 scoreless innings, striking out three while giving up two hits and a walk.
GCL Twins 3, Rays 0 at Rays (Game 1--Scheduled 7 innings). The Twins scored one in the fifth and two in the seventh. Candido Pimentel had two singles and a triple. Julio Torres and Drew Leachman each had two hits. Hein Robb gave up four hits and three walks, but no runs, in four innings. Kyle Wahl got the win with three perfect innings, striking out four.
GCL Twins 5, Rays 2 at Rays (Game 2--Scheduled 7 innings). The Twins trailed 2-1 after five but scored two in the sixth and two in the seventh. Kelvin Ortiz singled and doubled. Joshua Hendricks had two hits. Starter Bobby O'Neill worked four innings, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks. Luis Nunez got the win with three shutout innings, giving up two hits.
DSL Padres 10, Twins 5 at Padres. The Twins scored four in the ninth to make it look better. The Twins had only four hits and made five errors which led to six unearned runs. Starter Randy Rosario took the loss, giving up a run on one hit and three walks in three innings. Melcaides De La Cruz struck out six in 3.1 innings, but allowed six runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk.
