  1. Oh man, those "Take My Breath Away" drums.

    The musical signature of this band has got to be the synth arpeggios, and I don't think they've ever sounded more hopeful than with this song. Mixing that up with Karin's vocals and lyrics, and I sense nostalgia for the hope of the old relationship when it was new.

    Sometimes I think the best lyrics come from non-native English speakers, who therefore don't reject great words just because they're unnatural. "One night of magic rush", "We had a promise made", "Mind is a razor blade", etc. It's like Yoda.

    Also, Karin is like the original Lady Gaga, in the sense of what I wanted Gaga to be. Check out her acceptance speech for an award for her solo work as Fever Ray:
