    1. Looks like it was supposed to be nibbish. I happen to know he's online today, so I guess he didn't realize it was a day game (or perhaps he doesn't care anymore).

      1. Ah, I was actually emailing you via my phone (which I guess technically could have been used to post a game log). Today has been project day, as have most Saturdays lately. Sorry for the whiff, thanks for the pickup, Bootsy.

      1. I've got Sporting KC v. Houston on the other channel (Bunbury scored early, 1-0 KC in the 23rd minute). Pretty important game in the Western conference standings, and more interesting than the Twins.

      1. What a wild ending. Djokovic's return when down 40-15 and 5-3 in the 5th set was an incredible shot. Pandering to the crowd afterwards was hilarious. I really should watch more tennis. Every time I watch I really enjoy it.

  1. it seems like Wilson Betemit kills the Twins, but he is only a .217 hitter lifetime against them

    1. Fun Betemit fact: He was the opposing third-basemen in the game the Twins beat the White Sox 20-1 and the game the Twins beat Zack Greinke 19-1 (both with me in the stands). He was booed lustily for defensive miscues in both instances.

  2. I really hate interviews with players/managers during the game. Just because you can do it, doesnt mean you have to

    1. [Dido]

Especially since it makes them completely ignore the game. Mauer home run? Whatever, just an aside.

  3. ouch

    RhettBollinger
Mauer was also the last #Twins player to homer back on Sunday in Anaheim. Ends team drought of 202 PA,182 ABs without a homer.

  4. One of the card collectors posted this contest on his blog: name the MVP of the games on 9/11/2011. Not sure how it's being determined, but my pick: Brian Dinkelman. That should be sure-fire proof that there is a God.

  5. The thing TV doesn't show well about tennis is just how damn fast the ball is moving. At Drake matches you could get pretty close. You can actually hear the ball whizzing thru the air.

    1. If you ever get the chance to attend a tournament, all of the matches that aren't on the top two or three courts are in a similar setup. As someone who had only watched tennis on TV, it was a strange but good experience to be on the sideline, nearly at eye-level with the players.

  6. Is it just me, or is the sudden touting of the Rays-Red Sox as a race for the wildcard a symptom of there being no other races? I'm thinking the Rays have to get a bit closer before I take their chances seriously.

        1. Yeah, the last few days have been kind to the Rays. Still, across baseball, it's just about knotted up. The worst part is that I've seen at least one story using this to defend playoff expansion. Yeah, let's expand every time we don't have a close race. Soon enough, thirty playoff teams!

          1. Also, at that point, maybe we can finally pare down the season to something easy on the attention span of the average American. We can have every team play once a week for maybe something like 16 weeks.

  7. Jerry Kill was having seizures on the sidelines for several minutes. The game has been stopped for about 10 minutes while medical officials tend to him. Eerie radio, folks.

    1. He has a history of seizures and it sounds like he will be OK. He had a seizure during a game in 2005 and was back on the sidelines the next week. As long as he didn't injure himself, he should probably be out and about in a day or two.
