Sometimes with late season baseball you struggle for reasons to watch. That will not be the case tonight as there is a pitching matchup for the ages in Bruce Chen against Carl Pavano. It doesn't get any better than this, you guys.

HUMAN PEZ-DISPENSER!
I wish he had dispensed more hits in the first inning.
You don't say.
SEND HIM!!!!
Does "caught stealing error" count?
Happy, RR?
no. /stats-padder
TK in the booth tonight.
+ 25 Richards.
No!! Caught stealing + error?!
Stolen base.
Nope caught stealing and an error.my fault for listening to Bremer.
And now, a scoring change.
butters with a perfect throw.
So its true that someone truly did get caught stealing against Pavano?
almost absent-mindedly carved out a piece of chicken pox pie instead of apple pie. these Chen K's have me befuddled
Chicken pox pie - intentional error or caught spelling?
intentional! homemade birthday chicken pox pie. mmmm-mm-mm-mmm
uh...........frack
The Pavano Giveth, the Moustakas.
That takes the sting out of it.
You can say that again.
Pavano on an ugly roll
I feel like I want to blame this on the Vikings somehow.
Joe "Air Mail" Benson.
Pavano brought his shovel to this game.
Its too bad none of the hitters did, that extra surface area would have helped.
Hey guys.
I don't think I'm gonna make it to the end of this game...
Just like Pavano.
Evening, folks.
Not sure if you need the "s" at the end of "folk" tonight. But hello.
you're on fire tonight.
Guess it's the excitement over the Adelman signing that has me going...
The Wolves definitely needed a guy that can get the most out of everyone's talents.
No kidding. Klaw is Burning Man!
is that the original or the remake? 'cause it makes a (BIG) difference...
Woodward wins Cage match.
Britt Eklund FTW
The judges would have accepted Zozobra as well.
Heh.
(My initial choice seemed a little harsh.)
Did anyone else see It's Worth What? tonight? I feel dumber for having seen even 2 and a half seconds.
Ugh, glad I'm not the only one that couldn't change the channel fast enough after Wheel of Fortune and accidentally watched more than I wanted to. I've long felt that Cedric the Entertainer was a misnomer, and that helped prove my point.
I worked with him in a few scenes on a movie. He's a super great guy, but I'm glad we never really got to the issue of his act.
I do remember you saying that. I'm glad I don't have to have personally met any entertainer I find completely un-entertaining. It would probably make it a bit harder to rag on them in an anonymous way.
Hell, I met two that day. Being close friends with a lot of actors - most of whom can act, but several who cannot - has given me a pretty solid hand on the bullshitting game.
I am sure, nay, I'm sure, sure that I'll never be watching that program again.
You mean you don't find it compelling to know whether Princess Di's dress was worth more than Elvis's jumpsuit or not?
I'm still taken aback by the revelation that cheapie watches WoF.
How old are you, pal?
It comes on after Matlock. What else is he going to watch?
According to my wife, way older than I look. But mostly its just a convenient thing to turn to when furiously trying to not watch Entertainment Tonight.
That was a tremendously wimpy throw by Poof.
these games would be slightly more entertaining if our offense at least put up a little bit of a fight
these games would be slightly more entertaining if the Twins weren't involved...
At the end of every Butters at bat, I hear that song they play on The Price Is Right when somebody loses. That should be his theme song.

That works too. I was thinking of this one.

I didn't want to pile on the (almost) Birthday boy.
He has it coming.
And Butters dips back under .160.
There's a new angle to the race to the bottom.
I'm not sure its so much a race as just a time trial.
It's the only individual stat that I keep tabs on with this motley crew.
Next season we should make it a goal for Butters to hit higher than my body weight. Unfortunately, I'm never going to weigh under 160 and he's never going to hit over .209, so it's going to require some effort from both of us.
Valencia has discovered a sure fire way to get stranded on base: hit 6th in the Twin's lineup.
Not sure that it matters much.
Jeter would find a way to score.
Poof! The out disappears.
And just like that, it reappears! Amazing!
So, Ploof needs to find a position to play, huh?
This is why the Twins can't have nice things--like hits.
Don't make me turn this
seasoncar around!this season is like an aircraft carrier; it's not turning around any time too soon
This season seems more like the Hindenburg.
I was gonna go with the Shoho.
Dammit, I was all ready to do the Price Is Right thing for Butters' impending out and then Gardy goes and f&*(s me.
Well, it wasn't Butters, but...

Wrap this one up with a 12-run 9th, boys. I'm going to bread.
So, Soria's pitching?!
I know what you're referencing, but I read the word "breed" at first, and I was going to applaud.
Looks like I got here just in time to turn the lights out.
well, I suppose another one run in the 9th, and call it a moral victory
How many days of this garbage are left?
At this pace? A couple of years worth.
It has been like our very own Trail of Tears.
I should have named the Calf Chen.
I laughed out loud.
Infield hit for JoJo. Perfect.
Weather was perfect, Mrs. Ghost was ideal company and the last ballpark hot dog of the year was delicious.
Oh, the game? Yes, I guess there was a game... somehow the details are escaping me.
i missed everything. did they suck?
