Who's cold: Aaron Hicks is hitting .097/.263/.161 in 31 at-bats. Brett Jacobson is 0-1, 7.36, 1.91 WHIP in 3.2 innings (3 appearances). Bruce Pugh is 0-1, 13.50, 3.64 WHIP in 4.2 innings (4 appearances). He has walked 7 and struck out 2. Dakota Watts is 0-1, 9.53, 1.76 WHIP in 5.2 innings (4 appearances). He has walked 4 and struck out 7.
Who's in the middle: Cole DeVries is 1-0, 4.50, 1.00 WHIP in 10 innings (3 starts). He has walked 1 and struck out 8.
It's interesting that DeVries is starting in the AFL, considering he has only five starts over the last two seasons in AA and AAA. I wonder if they are just trying to get him some more inning to improve on his secondary stuff or if they are trying to make him into a starter for the long-term since they have so little starting pitching in the upper minors.
