  1. That's a lot of strikeouts for Guerra. I hope he's ready for the big leagues, since he must be getting close to being out of options.

    1. Are you thinking of Deolis Guerra? Pedro Guerra's not on the 40-man, so none of his options have been exercised yet. Deolis Guerra was added to the 40-man in the '09-'10 off-season, so the Twins have used two of his option years (2010 and 2011), and it won't be a problem to option him this year again. Next spring will be the do-or-die time for Deolis Guerra. Seems like they gave up on him as a starting pitcher last year, moved him to the bullpen and his strikeout rate ticked up favorably.

      1. Ah, indeed I am. So much for reading comprehension.

Pedro Guerra seems rather young to be pitching in the VWL, considering Beloit is the highest he's been. Although, he's only eight months younger than Deolis. Two Guerras in the bullpen*, both right-handed, sounds like a confusing mix.

        * Pedro has primarily been a starter with the Twins, but I'm not sure how long that will last. He did fine last year, but 2010 not so much.

        1. Looking just at the numbers, it's easy to hypothesize that he was dealing with an injury in 2010. His 2009 and 2011 numbers are pretty consistent with one another.
