*** ALERT ALERT *** SIX pm East Coast start
There is no local TV for this game, so once again I will follow the action on the radio with Alan Horton ( @WolvesRadio on the Twitter machine! He is actually a good follow because he throws out awesome stats during timeouts/halftime of the game and post game stats afterward).
I gotta be honest, I dont know a whole lot about the Nets. They have a bunch of injuries and Kris Humphries plays for them. I also thought they were moving to Brooklyn and they are owned by a Russian billionaire who might run for President of Russia (good luck beating Putin!). Daron Williams plays for them and is the leading scorer at 20 per, and hasnt run coach Avery Johnson out of town (yet). The Nets are also rated 3rd to last in points given up (98.8 p/g)
The Wolves are looking for a victory after getting the snot kicked out of them by the Pacers. I hope Pek! starts tonight.
Nice write up, DW. I won't be watching tonight but I'm hoping for a wolves victory.
somewhat surprisingly, Kris Humphries has become a legit NBA power forward. At age 26, he's in just his second season of getting starter minutes (and last year they were marginal starter minutes -- 27.9 min/g) and he is delivering a nightly double-double (13.1/10.5 averages, plus over an assist per game).
He has always rebounded well in the league, but now he's finally moved away from being a volume shooter who gets limited minutes to a reasonably efficient scorer (.555 TS% last year; .548 TS% so far this year, compared to a career .503). Too bad he is a crappy FT shooter.
is he worth $8 mil per year?
By NBA standards, I would say "yes".
Thanks for getting the log tonight dw.
my bad, the game starts at 6:30
Booo no TV.
Hooray other ways.
(good luck beating Putin!)
No, really.
'Darko missed at point blank again' UGH he stinks
After Barrea throws the ball out of bounds. "That's the kind of play that Barrea can make."
Lost my stream. Hopefully another's up when I'm done eating.
Wolves have 7 turnovers, yet they lead. crazy
The Wolves finally found a team that plays the same style of first quarter ball as them.
Yay, first quarter lead! I haven't seen nearly enough of those.
PEK!
PEK! stomp on Nets!
Pek is dominating right now
Pek! is looking right at home in New Jersey.
Nice to see the Wolves padding a lead with Love and Rubio both getting a rest.
19-5 run by the Nets. boo
Yeah, what the hell is going on now? Sheesh.
I have never heard of Anthony Morrow. he has got 17 points yikea
.445 career three point percentage, only behind Steve Kerr.
It does not appear this game on league pass. This is what it must feel like to live in Minnesota.
Luke Ridnour sitting at -12 right now
'Darko with a sore left leg, not available for the second half' *insert joke here*
*Darko*
Pek! starting the second half.
Rubiooop to ... Wes Johnson!?
Love's having a rough game.
"Wes Johnson with all the tools, just hasn't been able to put it together consistently."
Great, the Wolves version of Carlos Gomez.
Only not as much fun to watch play defense.
Oh, so all of the tools but defense. That makes him... Delmon.
Maybe they can trade him straight up for the basketball version of JJ Hardy?
I love this website/community.
That was beautiful by Rubio/Wes.
Wait, what!? Rubio shaved??
Man oh man, Rubio.
that pass made me dizzy
OOOHHH!
I find myself clapping my hands and standing up when this team plays. All the time.
I think Rubio would be a good pairing with just about anyone.
Pek! 19/10..6 offensive rebounds
Oh poor Pekovic. He's just not prepared to get the ball unless it's near the rim. I definitely know that feeling.
Wait. New Jersey with the 80-75 lead?
Could we quit effing fouling this dude.
Jesus, the wolves should be up by 15 in this thing.
Morrow's got 5 fouls on him. Best way for the Wolves to keep him from scoring.
Humphries has to be one of my least favorite Minnesotans ever.
Things you won't get from me on this: disagreement.
That was borderline flagrant.
I bet HE could play third base.
Today you could wear a jersey to work to help you get pumped up for the super bowl, or something. I wore my broke butt Rubio jersey. As you might imagine I was the only person in a Wolves Jersey at work.
Deron Williams looks like a paler Cuddy-- Wire not Twins.
I'm not sure that required clarification...
I was thinking House personally.
Well, he does have a pretty nice back porch.
I hate this Morrow guy
He's like the Punto of the Nets.
I was going to say the Polanco
Damn him and his jaw!
Is he being guarded by Wes, by chance?
Because I'm having a really hard time understanding why he's still on the team.
OMG LUUUKE
That does not happen without Pek!
Lawler's law, bitches!
Ridnour! Finally
It's bad enough the game isn't on TV, but all my %#&@!! game-stat feeds are frozen at 8:49 left to go in the fourth. NBA.com sucks.
I use Yahoo
Also frozen on my computer. Bah.
You're a bit behind. 39.3 seconds left now.
This game is sailing along, with it's second video review in 10 seconds.
25.7 after the review and inevitable foul. Maybe this game will finish before 9:10 CST.
I use.... alternate sources.
I do when I'm at home, but I'm at work right now. I'm a little surprised the Feds didn't shut that down too, with the upcoming Superbowl and all.
Well, it doesn't matter because apparently everyone's DirecTV is down. Them fed assholes shut down E-6's site, though.
Man, if Kevin Love was not on a team I rooted for I would hate that dude.
So he's Pierzynski, but actually good? I'm okay with that.
I have no problem with hating dudes on my team, but it's usually for sucking badly at some aspect of the game(see exhibit A- Young, D.).
Exhibit B: Johnson, W
I'm more apathetic towards Wes at this point, but that's mostly because Adelman sits his useless butt down frequently. That didn't happen nearly often enough with Delmon.
OK, Wes-hate is starting to gather.
Its a freekin tidal wave for me, right now.
I know traveling isn't called anymore, but I thought five steps was egregious enough to call.
That was a nice slap in the face by Love, though.
just got home. didn't know this was an early game, but at least i got back for the good part.
Wolves ball!
yeah, I'll take it. Didn't see it, though
To me, it looks like Ridnour jostled it free, but it was still in Williams'(?) hands when he lost control.
Looked like it went off his hip to me.
Pekovic. That is all.
From. The. Sea.
Jeebus, he had 27?
i tuned in for the last part, and i thought i heard the announcers say that, but i swore i misheard it. huh.
really? for stupid
Bologna!
Are you kidding me?
What happened?
104-99. Wes fouls three point shooter. He makes it. And the free throw. 104-103.
And see, I was told Wes was a good defender. All I see is a guy I hate.
Nope, he's Delmon, not Gomez. Edit: By which I mean, he can't play defense.
Or anything else? That makes the _elm_n comparison even more apt.
Wes Johnson gave them 4 points.
Wesux.
Any way the Nets would trade Morrow for Wes?
WINNER WINNER!
first 3 game road winning streak since April of 2009
That was a sweet ending.
Yes!
Does that count as a missed fg for Rubio?
I'm gonna go with incomplete pass.
18/18 on free throws second half. That's how you win.
And kudos to Rubio for the awesome jump ball to end the game
Hot damn.
Nice wriggle, Wolves. I wanted to post more, but couldn't look away.
Thanks for the email. So happy I have a second monitor to
commentspam the WGOM.I live to serve!
That sounds like something a wolf {fan} would say.
But I would say it if I was a Nets fan too! Honest!
His story checks out.
Pek interview on the radio. He sounds like a random thug from some movie about an Eastern European mob. Amazing.
Isn't it charming?
Absolutely. I'm hooked on these Wolves.
To make things even better, I have Morrow and Deron Williams on my fantasy team!
Fun fact: Wes Johnson was a +6.
