Wolves @ Lakers 9:30pm

Last night's win was simply awesome. Between Derrick Williams being unleashed to Micheal Beasley going en fuego leading to this awesome exchange a the :28 mark between Ricky Rubio and The Beas (also, Ricky Rubio has gotta be leading the lead in .gifs. His passes, his dances, his dusting people off. what a joy).

Last night's win also guaranteed a winning record for the month of February (now 8-6 for the month) and that is now 2 straight winning months (January they went 10-8). Before Jan, the last time they had a winning month was January of 2009 when Kevin McHale took over for the fired Randy Wittman and went 10-5. THREE years without a winning month. ye gods. The last time the Wolves had back to back winning months, you gotta go back to 2005 (!!!) when again Kevin McHale took over for a fired coach in Flip Saunders and had winning records in March (10-5) and April (6-4).

wow. just wow.

  1. I'm enjoying my first Red Chair and watching the Last Waltz while waiting for the game to start.

    1. If Beas plays well again tonight I will start to get excited for a playoff run.

  2. So it turns out Kobe is going to play with a concussion. Still no word as to if this will make him shoot more or less.

  3. according to Jerry Zgoda, no Kevin Love, out with the flu. Anthony Randolph (who?) is activated, Derrick Williams might start

  4. The Wolves line opened this morning at Minnesota +4.5. With Kobe playing now and Love out I have a feeling that line is going to end closer to Minnesota +8/8.5.

It will make the upset all the sweeter.

        1. I can just picture him dunking over Bynum, knocking him over and then getting in his face and saying, "Did I do that?"

  5. I wish a NBA player wearing the broken nose mask would just paint it silver to make themselves look like MF Doom. It would be 10x cooler.

  6. Free trial of League Pass this week. For some reason the Wolves broadcast is blacked out. I know that the Wolves announcers aren't very good, but dammit, they're my not very good announcers.

    1. I'm just going to listen to the audio for a change. The video stream isn't worth the aggravation.

    1. Didn't we all agree to call him Metta World Colonoscopy last time the Wolves played the Lakers?

  7. Rubio is attacking the basket. That's generally something I love, but man, those shots just are not in his skill set yet.

  8. That's quite the lineup the Lakers are sporting right now- Bynum, Barnes, Blake, Murphy and whatever a Goudelock is.

  9. So far the main difference between the Lakers and the Clippers is that the Lakers can make their outside shots.

  10. Since when does Kobe get four assists in a game, much less in a half? Are we sure it's really Kobe?

        1. Imagine what Rubio could do with a Mask of Assists +5! Of course, if it gives him a -10% on his FG shooting, it might not be worth it.
