The Harrisburg Senators and Richmond Flying Squirrels (minor league teams have the best names) have the same notable players.
I'm surprised Guerra is back in AA. Though, perhaps not entirely surprised since he moved to the bullpen just last year.
Also of note, Yohan Pino seems to have been demoted from AAA to AA last year. I wonder why he never got a chance in the majors for Cleveland. Nothing about him stands out, but seems like a more than serviceable long reliever. Perhaps the same reason as Guerra. The Twins had him start full-time in AAA and so did the Indians. But before that and after, he's started and relieved.
Just wanted to see if anyone was reading all the way to the end 🙂 Seriously, thank you. I've fixed it.
I don't know how certain it is that Guerra will be in AA. They list Brian Dozier there, too, and I know I've read he'll be in Rochester. I don't know just how reliable the rosters listed at milb.com are right now, but they're all I have to work with.
I've always kind of liked Pino, but he's 28 now, so his chance has probably passed unless somebody gets a lot of injuries or something. Still, as I always say, you never know.
Bobby Korecky seems old for a AA player
age-32 season. He's roster filler.
Remember that game when he got a hit and the win? That game was hilarious. Gardy's worst nightmare and they still won.
Korecky and Matt Fox are two players I will always remember.
True, true. I was at that Matt Fox game. Good stuff.
I would not be surprised if Bobby Korecky became a coach when he's through playing.
Are these notable for being good players or for having epic baseball names?
Either or both. "Notables" tends to be "players whose names I recognize". I realize that's far from a perfect system. I might recognize a player's name for lots of reasons: it's unusual and stuck with me, I happened to see an article about him, he has a similar name to a famous player, he has a similar name to someone I know, etc. However, since I don't have time to study everybody's farm system, it's the best I can do.
