PAWTUCKET 10, ROCHESTER 1 IN ROCHESTER
Batting star: Rene Rivera hit his second home run of the season.
Pitching star: Anthony Slama worked a scoreless inning, walking one and striking out one.
Opposition stars: Jose Iglasias was 3-for-5. Che-Hsuan Lin doubled and homered. Will Inman struck out five in 2.1 innings. Brandon Duckworth struck out six and gave up one run in five innings.
Key inning: The eighth. Pawtucket led 3-1 after seven. The PawSox then scored seven runs to put the game away. They got four singles, a double, and a walk and were aided by two Red Wings errors. Most of the damage was done off Brendan Wise, who was charged with five runs (four earned) in two-thirds of an inning.
Other: Brian Dozier has at least on hit in each of the seven Red Wings games. Brian Dinkelman and Ray Chang are out of the lineup with hand injuries.
NEW BRITAIN 5, NEW HAMPSHIRE 3 IN NEW HAMPSHIRE
Batting stars: Aaron Hicks was 2-for-3 with a double and a home run, his third. Deibinson Romero hit two homers, driving in three.
Pitching star: Jason Marquis struck out seven and walked none in eight innings, giving up two runs on five hits.
Opposition stars: Justin Jackson was 3-for-3 with two doubles. Fernando Rodriguez struck out three in two shutout innings.
Key inning: The sixth. The Rock Cats already led 2-0 after five, but put the game away with three more. Romero’s second homer of the game drove in Chris Colabello and capped off the inning.
FORT MYERS 1, BRADENTON 0 IN FORT MYERS
Batting star: Angel Morales was 2-for-4.
Pitching stars: Pat Dean worked 5.2 shutout innings, giving up six hits and two walks. Ricky Bowen and Edgar Ibarra each pitched 1.2 scoreless innings.
Opposition stars: Mel Rojas was 3-for-3 with a double and a triple. Colton Cain went five shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.
Key inning: The sixth. In a scoreless game, the Miracle loaded the bases with no one out. Josmil Pinto hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Danny Santana. A double play ended the inning, but Miracle pitchers made the one run stand up.
CLINTON 5, BELOIT 2 IN CLINTON
Batting stars: Adam Bryant was 2-for-4. Miguel Sano was 0-for-1 but walked three times.
Pitching star: A. J. Achter struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Opposition star: Steven Baron had a pair of doubles.
Key inning: The second. Already leading 2-0, the first four LumberKings reached base in the second, leading to two more runs and a lead they never relinquished.
