Batting star: Mike Hollimon was 2-for-4 with a double and home run.
Pitching stars: Cole DeVries allowed an unearned run on one hit and two walks while striking out four in five innings. Casey Fien worked 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up only one hit.
Opposition stars: Alex Hassan had three hits including a double. Will Middlebrooks singled and hit a three-run homer. Junichi Tazawa and Clay Mortensen each pitched two shutout innings.
Key inning: The sixth. Leading 3-1, Carlos Gutierrez came in to replace DeVries. He walked the first batter and hit the second, then retired the next two batters. Middlebrooks then hit his three-run homer to put the PawSox ahead. The Red Wings had only two baserunners the rest of the game.
Other: Gutierrez was removed from the game with an apparent shoulder injury. There is no word on his condition. After missing several games, Rene Tosoni was placed on the disabled list with an injured finger.
NEW BRITAIN 6, NEW HAMPSHIRE 1 IN NEW BRITAIN
Batting stars: Chris Herrmann was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles. Chris Colabello was 2-for-3 with a double and a home run, driving in four.
Pitching star: Steve Hirschfeld worked five shutout innings, striking out four while giving up four hits and two walks.
Opposition star: Ryan Goins had two hits.
Key inning: The first. The Rock Cats opened the game with a three-run inning. Herrmann, Colabello, and Aaron Hicks each doubled in the inning. The Rock Cats were aided by two wild pitches and an error. Hicks also stole a base. The Fisher Cats never got closer the rest of the game.

Pitching star: B. J. Hermsen pitched six shutout innings, giving up two hits while walking three.
Opposition stars: Justin Howard had two hits. Jameson Taillon allowed one run on three hits while striking out six in five innings. Jhonathan Ramos worked two shutout innings.
Key inning: The tenth. Benji Gonzalez led off the inning with a double off Caleb Thielbar. The next batter bunted. Thielbar fielded the ball and threw it away, allowing the winning run to score.
Other: The lead off batter for the Marauders was Gift Ngoepe. The second batter was Drew Maggi.

Pitching stars: Tim Shibuya allowed a pair of unearned runs on three hits and two walks in five innings, striking out four. Matthew Tomshaw and Corey Williams each struck out two in two shutout innings.
Opposition stars: Jharmidy De Jesus was 2-for-4. Jordan Shipers gave up a run on three hits and two walks while striking out six in six innings.
Key inning: The eighth. With the score tied at two, the Snappers scored three runs, with everything happening after two were out. Ortiz and Rory Rhodes singled, Adam Bryant walked to load the bases, and Jairo Rodriguez walked to force in a run. The other two runs scored on a wild pitch and an error.
