Okay, so CoC beat me to the punch, but Nirvana's Nevermind was a watershed moment for music, and had an incredible impact on my taste. I threw out all the crappy glam rock I stole from my brother and dove headlong into the grunge movement. Yeah, I owned a lot of flannel. A couple more of the greatest hits from my early teens after the jump.

Yeah, I had a thing for Eddie, but I had more of a thing for Kat Bjelland.

The opening chords from Trompe Le Monde bring me screaming back to my parents basement. To this day, my old man refers to the sound of the Pixies as noiseic. I can still hear him saying, "why can't he just sing...".

I mentioned this in the movie post the other day but if you like Pearl Jam, you need to checkout PJ20. It's streaming on netflix and was directed by Cameron Crowe.
After that post, it was added to my queue. Looking forward to it.
I second this. It's a love letter, but it's not totally through plaid flannel glasses.
I had more of a thing for Kat B...
I knocked around with bassist Maureen H. one summer. It was before she was a Babe. In Toyland, that is. She was always a babe. (Still is, for that matter.)
the bassist that was present for the end of the band (jessie?) used to hang out with one of my roommates. i recall drinking cheap beer together on a few occasions.
Mo replaced Michelle right before the band recorded Fontanelle. She left after Nemesisters.
Speaking of hanging out and drinking cheap beer, I remember spending an alcohol fueled night with some of her friends from back home in Libertyville, IL. Hit it off famously with them, including one guy--Tommy--that Maureen said was an amazing guitarist who "was gonna be famous some day!" He laughed off her compliments, but she was right. "Tommy" was Tom (Rage Against the Machine) Morello.
