We ran into one of Dr. Chop's colleagues at Target on Friday and she asked up very gingerly if it was true that we were leaving town. We were a bit taken back because it's not widely known that we're leaving Texas yet. We told her that it was indeed true, and she asked if we'd be selling our house. We said that we were, and then promptly invited her and her fiancee over to see our pad. They've gotten together with a realtor already and are preparing a bid. We haven't even listed the house, and our realtor hasn't even had a chance to give us the comps in our hood let alone have an asking price in mind. If this goes through it will be a huge relief. We've got our fingers and toes crossed.
Best of luck to you on that, meat. That'd be a pretty fine way to sell a house.
I'm with cheap - good luck with this. It would certainly make the transition easier.
too bad she decided to involve her realtor. A sell-by-owner in this circumstance saves her money and makes you money.
but congrats on the likely sale!
I would have preferred to sell it directly to them, but if it sells and we break even / make enough for a steak dinner we'll be happy.
A pox on German auto engineers. I am going to need to replace the rear rotors and brake pads in my car and to get the caliper bracket off I need a 14 mm triple freeking square drive, which no one seems to stock. Seriously, did a Torx drive just not have enough teeth? Mein gott.
I got as far as typing the date last night and apparently got distracted. I did fall asleep at about 8pm, so I'm guessing that was the culprit.
that's what happens when you start drinking at 10am.
Dude, the store had just opened at 10am! I only wished I was drinking instead.
Our boiler isn't firing up properly and we have no hot water. The manual (PDF) is in Czech, and I'm not getting anywhere.

HOT DAMN! Finally, the Twins are the free game at a decent hour.
Good for him. I hope he does well there. I don't think he's going to be a very good big league player, but I have nothing against him. If he proves me wrong, it will be fine with me.
Dido. I (almost) always wish ex-Twins well, and tend to look for them in box scores.
But I'm not really sure what Oakland is doing in claiming him. That's a team that desperately needs offense, and Luke Hughes isn't a solution.
Well, they didn't claim him for his defense.
Ron Artest just elbowed James Harden in the face as hard as he could.
The talking heads are going to say it was intentional because he is who he is. ABC showed the replay about 42 times so far, I can't say for sure one way or another. It was a dumb play, for sure, but I think people are going attack World Peace more because of his history.
Also, since James Harden is one of the most likable players in the league this isn't going to help is case.
I cant say whether that was intentional or not, but man that was a vicious elbow. He should get at least a 2 game suspension (same as the Love stomp), more if Harden has a concussion.
there is absolutely no doubt that it was intentional. He was into Harden's body already, raised his elbow above shoulder level, hammered him and followed through on it. 2-game suspension is not nearly enough. He could have ended Harden's career with that shot, or at least Tomjanovich'd him.
maybe he didn't intend to almost kill Harden, but he certainly intended to land a blow with malice.
Out of curiosity, is it common for players to bump someone from the other team after they dunk? I mean, obviously Artest's elbow was out of line, but from my point of view, as someone who doesn't watch a lot of basketball, it also seemed like Harden was baiting him into doing something dumb.
No, it is not particularly uncommon, but Harden certainly could have avoided Artest. That doesn't come close to excusing what Artest did. Normally it just results in some Thug Life Staring and maybe a little jawing.
Like I said, Artest's elbow was obviously out of line and I'm not looking for excuses. I'm just looking for stories. Given Artest's history, OKC might have been trying to bait Artest into doing something stupid and they got more than they bargained for, but without seeing the rest of the game obviously I can't make that judgment definitively, but Harden does look like he's trying to be a pest. It wouldn't be the first time a team has tried to get into an opponent's head, at least.
Whats this...a Wolves game on FSN! its been over a week since they have been on local tv.
Wolves were up 20 at one point in this game, now losing by 4. awesome.
nothing worse than waking up in a hotel room in Omaha to old Sanka.

yeah, i don't see how that's not intentional.
