SYRACUSE 6, ROCHESTER 4 IN SYRACUSE
Batting stars: Sean Burroughs was 3-for-4. J. R. Towles was 2-for-2 with a sacrifice.
Pitching star: Brendan Wise worked 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits.
Opposition stars: Xavier Paul was 3-for-4 with a double. Corey Brown was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run.
Key inning: The sixth. With the score tied at one, Brown homered to put the Chiefs in front. This ignited a rally, as an error and three singles plated two more runs and put Syracuse ahead 4-1.
Other: Chien-Ming Wang started for the Chiefs on a rehab assignment. He pitched well but tired at the end, allowing four runs on eleven hits in eight innings. The Red Wings have now lost six in a row.
CHARLOTTE 13, FORT MYERS 1 IN CHARLOTTE
Batting stars: Daniel Ortiz and Jairo Perez each tripled.
Pitching stars: Kyle Waldrop and Bruce Pugh each worked a scoreless inning.
Opposition stars: Derek Dietrich was 3-for-5 with two triples and a homer, scoring three times and driving in three. Riccio Torrez singled and homered. Nate Garcia worked four shutout innings of relief, striking out four.
Key inning: The fourth. Trailing 3-0, Perez tripled and scored to cut the lead to 3-1. In the bottom of the inning, Philip Wunderlich tripled and scored on a Robby Price double. A sacrifice bunt and a sacrifice fly scored Price to make the score 5-1 and it was never close again.
Other: Lance Ray was named FSL player of the week. Cody Rogers set a Stone Crabs team record with six RBIs.
BELOIT 5, CLINTON 2 IN BELOIT
Batting stars: Wang-wei Lin was 2-for-4 with two doubles. Jonathan Goncalves was 2-for-4 with a triple. Eddie Rosario hit his third home run.
Pitching star: Steven Gruver gave up two runs on six hits and a walk in 6.1 innings.
Opposition stars: Dillon Hazlett was 2-for-3 with two doubles. Tim Griffin pitched four shutout innings of relief.
Key inning: The second. Trailing 2-0, Adam Bryant and Goncalves opened the inning with singles. A wild pitch advanced them to second and third, and a pair of ground outs tied the score. Adam Pettersen and Lin then hit back-to-back doubles to put the Snappers ahead, and JaDamion Williams singled in an insurance run.

When I read "triplefest" I thought that was 1 more than a "double header". I now see what you mean, and yes, that is a lot of triples.
