Minor Details: Games of 6/11

Absolute boo for the Red Wings.  Three games are decided in the last inning.  Miguel Sano hits his fifteenth homer.

INDIANAPOLIS 16, ROCHESTER 0 IN INDIANAPOLIS

Batting starPedro Florimon was 2-for-4.

Pitching star:  None.

Opposition stars:  Starling Marte was 3-for-5 with a double and a triple.  Jamaico Navarro was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk, scoring three times and driving in three.  Justin Wilson struck out six in seven innings, giving up four hits.

Key inning:  The second.  In a scoreless tie, the Indians scored six times.  A two run triple by Marte capped off the inning.

Other:  The 16-0 victory was the largest margin of victory in a shutout in the history of Victory Field.

FORT MYERS 8, PALM BEACH 4 IN PALM BEACH

Batting starsDaniel Santana was 3-for-5 and drove in three.  Danny Rams was 2-for-3 with two doubles and scored three times.  Jairo Perez was 2-for-4.

Pitching starsMarty Popham lasted five innings, allowing one run on seven hits and a walk while striking out five.  Ricky Bowen worked two shutout innings, not surrendering a hit but walking three.

Opposition stars:  Chris Edmondson was 2-for-3 with two walks.  Drew Benes went six innings, yielding two runs on five hits and two walks.

Key inning:  The ninth.  In a 4-4 tie, the Miracle loaded the bases with no one out on a walk, an error, and an intentional walk.  Singles by Levi Michael and Santana plated two runs, and a pair of sacrifice flies brought in two more.

Other:  The Cardinals stranded eleven runners.

WISCONSIN 8, BELOIT 7 IN WISCONSIN

Batting starsJairo Rodriguez was 3-for-4.  Nate Roberts was 3-for-5.  Miguel Sano was 2-for-5 with a grand slam, his fifteenth homer of the season.

Pitching star:  None.

Opposition stars:  Yadiel Rivera was 3-for-5 with a triple.  Brandon Macias was 2-for-4 with a three run homer.  Cameron Garfield was 2-for-4 with a two run homer.

Key inning:  The ninth.  With the score tied at seven, the Snappers had runners on first and second with one out, but a double play ended the inning.  In the bottom of the inning, the Timber Rattlers had runners on first and second with one out, and Rivera singled to drive in the winning run.

Other:  Beloit lost leads of 6-2 and 7-4…This was the second game in a row that Rivera delivered a game winning hit.

DSL REDS 4, TWINS 3 AT REDS (10 INNINGS)

Batting starsEngelb Vielma was 3-for-5.  Francis Mateo was 2-for-4.  Dubal Baez was 2-for-5.

Pitching starJose Abreu pitched four shutout innings, allowing neither a hit nor a walk.

Opposition stars:  Jonathan Suero was 2-for-4 with a double.  Soid F. Marquez threw five innings, giving up an unearned run on five hits and a walk.

Key inning:  The tenth.  With the score tied at three, the Twins put runners on first and second with one out but did not score.  In the bottom of the inning, the first two batters went out, but the Reds scored on a single, a wild pitch, and a pickoff error.

Other:  The Twins had eleven hits, all singles.

    TBA obviously has a rubber arm and is willing to play through the pain. Probably throws the living fire out of the ball on occasion as well.

      He's not sure, but he suspects there may be some new teams that he doesn't have a "W" against, and he's not gonna let that stand, no siree.
