Thanks for the link to the Will Oldham interview, E-6. In an odd coincidence, I was listening to The Essential Nina Simone as a I read it.

Also Slate.com all week has had a series of articles on Prog Rock. It's been very interesting. So I tried to listen to Brain Salad Surgery by Emerson Lake and Palmer. Review: No Thank You.
Yeah, Karn Evil 9 is a bit out there. You're much better off with Emerson's Piano Concerto No. 1

Nifty cover of James Blake's 'The Wilhelm Scream' by an old school funk band.

10 – I picked up a bottle of this. Although I liked it better than the brothers did, I found the boozy alcohol and dark fruit at the end took over any of the less pronounced flavors that seemed present in the aroma.
That first Cypress Hill album is still fantastic. DJ Muggs produced the whole thing.
With that, House of Pain's "Jump Around", and Ice Cube's "We Had to Tear This MF Up" and "Check Yo Self", I can't think of a better set of career-opening tracks for a hip-hop producer.
Couldn't agree more. My best buddy and college roommate is moving in a couple of weeks. He had 3 boxes of CD's packed which I offered to "move" for him. I spent the last week ripping discs and discovered a few of my albums, including this one, which I'd forgotten at his place when I moved out in '02.
