BUFFALO 5, ROCHESTER 3 IN BUFFALO
Batting star: Wilkin Ramirez was 3-for-4 with a double. Matt Carson was 2-for-4 with a double. Brian Dinkelman was 2-for-4.
Pitching star: Deolis Guerra struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up three hits.
Opposition stars: Zach Lutz was 2-for-4 with a double. Mike Nickeas was 2-for-2.
Key inning: The third. Leading 1-0, the Red Wings scored two in the top of the inning on RBI singles by Chris Parmelee and Carson. In the bottom of the inning, the Bisons came back with four runs to take the lead. Two singles, RBI doubles by Fred Lewis and Lutz, and an RBI single by Matt Tuiasosopo produced the runs.
Other: Starter Kyle Gibson surrendered four runs on six hits in three innings. He did strike out five.
NEW HAMPSHIRE 4, NEW BRITAIN 2 IN NEW HAMPSHIRE
Batting stars: Daniel Rohlfing was 2-for-4 with a triple. Deibinson Romero was 2-for-3 with a walk.
Pitching stars: Aaron Thompson worked a perfect inning. Dakota Watts walked one in a scoreless inning.
Opposition stars: Adam Lind was 2-for-2 with a walk and a home run. Sean Nolin allowed an unearned run on three hits and three walks in four innings.
Key inning: The fifth. Leading 2-1, the Fisher Cats scored twice. A double, a walk, an RBI single by Jake Marisnick, and a sacrifice fly made it 4-1.
Other: New Britain out-hit New Hampshire 8-6. The Rock Cats stranded nine runners and were 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position.
PALM BEACH 4, FORT MYERS 2 IN FORT MYERS
Batting stars: Levi Michael was 2-for-3 with a walk. Lance Ray was 1-for-2 with a double and three walks. Steven Liddle hit a home run, his second.
Pitching stars: Nelvin Fuentes struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk. Ricky Bowen also struck out three in two shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk.
Opposition stars: Starlin Rodriguez and Geoffrey Klein were each 3-for-5 with a home run. Luis De La Cruz was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.
Key inning: The ninth. Leading 3-2, Klein hit a home run for the Cardinals to give them an insurance run.
Other: Neither team scored more than one run in an inning. The Miracle stranded eleven runners.
BELOIT 13, CEDAR RAPIDS 2 IN CEDAR RAPIDS
Batting stars: JaDamion Williams was 2-for-5 with a three-run homer, his sixth. Drew Leachman was 2-for-5 with a home run, his fourth. Nate Roberts was 3-for-6.
Pitching stars: Cole Johnson gave up two runs on seven hits in five innings. Corey Williams struck out three and walked one in three shutout innings.
Opposition stars: Andy Workman was 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk. Eric Stamets was 2-for-5 with a double.
Key inning: The fourth. The Snappers led 2-1. A single, a hit batsman, and a walk loaded the bases with one out. Roberts singled in two and Williams hit a three-run homer to put the game out of reach at 7-1.
Other: Kernels pitchers walked 12 Beloit batters.
PULASKI 4, ELIZABETHTON 1 IN PULASKI
Batting star: Travis Harrison was 2-for-3 with a home run, his fifth.
Pitching star: Tyler Herr pitched two shutout innings, allowing two hits and two walks.
Opposition star: Rigoberto Garcia struck out eight in six innings, giving up one run on three hits and no walks.
Key inning: The third. Leading 1-0, the Mariners scored two. A walk, three singles, and a double play produced the runs.
Other: Byron Buxton was removed from the game in the bottom of the second inning. No reason was apparent.
GCL RED SOX 4, TWINS 1 AT RED SOX
Batting stars: Aderlin Mejia was 2-for-3 with a walk and two doubles. Bryan Haar was 2-for-3.
Pitching star: Kuo Hua Lo walked two in two shutout innings.
Opposition stars: Mike Meyers was 3-for-4 with a double. Mario Alcantara went five shutout innings, allowing four hits and two walks.
Key inning: The fourth. Leading 1-0, the Red Sox tallied twice. A pair of singles and a Deiner Lopez double made the score 3-0.
Other: The victory gave the Red Sox the division title.
