Plouffe is having a tough time on those balls to the left of him. again. sigh
On the radio broadcast, it was mentioned that Plouffe had gotten a glove from Mike Moustakas because the glove he'd been using wasn't really a third baseman's glove. He'd only brought outfielder's gloves to start the season because that's where he thought he'd be playing this year. Seriously? The Twins have been letting him play third base for months with the wrong glove?
Somehow, I'm sure it's the medical staff's fault.
Actually, did anybody catch Gladden's rant on Sunday during the bottom of the seventh about how computers are ruining baseball and people should be relying more on their gut than on numbers? That, plus this story about Plouffe, just sort of reiterate to me that the Twins seem to be so much myopia with how things are done that there is no longer anyone within the organization thinking independently to just remind them of things that might be slipping through the cracks.
I've already muted Dick'n'Bert, but if this continues on like this I'm finding something else entirely.
for a team that is in playoff contention, there are a lot of empty seats at Comiskey
What, did the Twins get Liriano back to pitch this one?
Bases loaded walk!
on the board!
Attaway, New Guy!
all right new guy!
Eduardo with a "Bite me very much" to his former team
That was one of the more bizarre balls in play I've ever seen.
jiminy! that ball took a wicked bounce
2 RBI per at bat? Why can't Joe do that?
he wants Willingham to have all the RBI
SEND HIM!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOO!! Leave him in!!
Hit-and-run actually worked for a change
We're well on our way to a GH inning here...
he pulled the ball!
Just need (at least) one more run...
Alex Rios has to be the worst defensive outfielder in the history of baseball.
Sounds made up.
Rios leads the AL in Total Zone Runs, FWIW.
Diamond is cold by now...not that he was warm at all before.
Come on....
Dangnabit.
you forgot to yell 'stretch...stretch'

Shhh, I'm busy with music videos!
I want to know how Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere didn't get played.
It's too fitting. 😉
i was letting the old fogies take it myself.

this seems like a low number to be on a Top 10 list for a franchise that has been around 40+ years
Dustin Morse @Twins_morsecode
Justin Morneau walked for the 450th time, tying him with Kirby Puckett for 8th on the #MNTwins all-time list.
I suspect it has more to do with the team not being very good for many years. For instance, with the Yankees Morneau would rank 15th since 1961. He would be sixth with the Royals however and seventh with the Rangers.
Ploufffe!
Scoring runs is cool.
Escobar. Is he with the RBI cartel?
Who knew the Twins had all of these great hitting middle infielders in the minors!?!?!
don't stop now, b--
ugg. i can't bring myself to say that, no matter what the circumstance.
feels like Morneau is going to jack one here.
a walk will do.
What the hell is going on?
We've replaced your replacement level team with a team full of capable major league hitters. Let's see how long it takes its fans to notice?
Zing!
awesomeness.
This might, might make up for not scoring eight in the second.
Mr. Watts must now make the first post in every thread
holy crap, this is embarrassing exciting!
you were saying?
Parms!
Chris starting a melee!
De Aza needs to work on his jumping.
THAT WAS THE GREATEST HOME RUN HIT EVER@!
I thought it bounced off his glove. still, pretty awesome.
OK, so Humber had a perfect game earlier this season, retiring 27 straight. Is Ventura gonna let him try to face 27 straight batters without retiring one?
Like.
Embarrassing the White Sox rules.
This is one of those little victories that makes me glad I haven't completely tuned this team out.
You got that right.
I logged in to say this, but there was so much goodness above that I just got to this point in the log.
Dwayne Wise he is not.
I've watched two games in the past three weeks. Good choice
Humber: 41 pitches, 1 out (RBI sac fly), 8 runs, all earned, + one runner on base.
Humber's ERA for the game is 216.
This really, really made me laugh.
Trivia Question: Did Humber give up more runs tonight or in his entire career with the Twins?
He tied his 2009 total, but unfortunately 2006 added six more runs.
I predict a Twins blowout win tonight.
Well played sir...well played.

Do you want to know? I'm on his page.
I checked the answer before posting but I still found it amusing.
Against the Twins, he's now given up 20 runs in 18 innings. With just the White Sox, it's 19 runs in 15.1 innings.
He is like the anti-Tyner.
that would have been a lot cooler if he'd dropped it.
Omogrosso? Yes you are so.
this year, the Twins are 12-0 when they score 10 or more runs in a game
What's the record when you predict a blowout win?
probably around 0-3
Well now it's 1-3.
I laughed. Okay, I chuckled, but it was genuine!
New Guyesque.
Runner daughter's godfather (a Sox fan) just texted me. He's thrown in the towel on this one
Funny. So have the Sox.
i don't think you get to say "he gone," anymore today, hawk...
Do you think the guy with the last name Omogrosso got made fun of in grade school? I bet he did.
Omigod.
Shut up.
No way.
Omogrosso.
Yeah, probably.
For his sake I hope he doesn't have a sister. Ah, nevermind, he is on the White Sox. I hope he has three.
Conversely, I bet Escobar didn't take any grief with his last name.
kaboom!
Douminit again.
Say what you will, but Carroll doesn't have a HR tonight
"7th inning stretch. we're gettin' our butts kicked."
that's closer to it, hawk.
Using Smokestax tonight, eh? Better hope Hendriks doesn't go for 2 innings this week.
Yeah, but we called up that one guy. And the other dude, what's his face. We're all sorted out for pitching.
Slama?
Walters and Majordomo.
glad we're using Swatchstuff tonight; don't have enough of a lead on the typical appearance
stop with the effing doubles!!!11
Someone needs to take away some of the White Sox Majordomo.
stop with the effing doubles!!!!11
My head asplode.
Butera pitching > Wise pitching.
Maestro should just keep walking...and Doumit too.
If the Sox can score 11 here, Wise gets his first ML win!
Mauer would have caught that.
glad we put in the defensive catcher.
i wouldn't be so cynical with a (now) 10-run lead. but, well, you know...
I think Ventura broke gameday.
what is that, 20 doubles in the past couple innings? stop with the effing doubles!!!11
When a position player moves to pitcher do you lose the DH?
Yes.
White Sox set record, lose game.
Puppies?
I still don't see it.
I still do, and still dig it!
(On the left, look for the ear in the deep yellow. The left puppy is looking left)
Outside of when he's pitching perfect games, Humber's ERA this season is 7.14
Outside of games when he's allowing more than 7 runs, his ERA is 4.63
We're still on track for 82-80! If we can score 18 runs every game, I'm confident it'll happen!
With Perdomo, Omogrosso, and Septimo relieving in this game, I kinda wish Deduno and Liriano has been the starters
